MAKE MANAGEMENT GREAT AGAIN

so now the first dlc is out and i fully support it because this way the game can be improved over a long period of time. that said i bought the dlcs and really really hope that you guys at frontier are working on bringing real management features into the game. management matters right ?

i completely support all the ideas of this thread https://forums.planetcoaster.com/sh...e-Career-and-Staff-Management-with-Facilities and really hope these things will make it into the game.

when i play planet coaster i really miss the tycoon part of the game i feel like a designer and not at all like the chef of a theme park. if we just had weather or random events things could be so much more interesting.i want so see wares for my shops being delivered a realistic timeline with closing hours and so on and on.

the sandbox part of the game is great i guess ( never played it tbh) but take challenge mod for example only thing you do there is waiting for money build something...wait for money again. fun level = zero and not challenging at all imo. scenarios are a nice addition but without real management features, they are also very easy to beat. and to this day still no scenario editor ???:X

this was just my 2 cents i really hope frontier will pay us back the trust we as a community are putting in them( by buying dlcs and supporting this game).

The thing is not really that they should add other layers of management... especially not just add something to give the idea of manage something (for example the security guards that are just repetitive). The thing is that they need to improve what is already in the game.

There's many things that not work great with AI and gameplay. For example:

- Security guards: too much vandalism and theft
- Many guests still complain about queue when many people entered the path at the same time
- Prestige mechanism that is always the same and not take into account the popularity and interest of the ride in the fact that this will become a classic
- Mechanics that something just inspect rides even if they're broken rides in the park or complain about lack of things to do when there's a lot to do in the park
- Guests that analyse too much where they go and if there are interesting rides in some part of the park, bang, there will be a lot of guests in this part even if there also interesting rides in the back with very small waiting time
- Fast pass queue that should be completely separate from the normal queue
- Finances that are adjusted (some rides cost too much and others not enough)
- More UI information about demographic and what each group wants

If these things are repaired, it would really adds a lot.

After, it will be very interesting to add some more things (not necessarily in sandbox, but in others modes). For example:

- The thing I really hope for this game is competition against AI park. It would be so amazing to have to deal with other(s) park(s) and having to take decision on the fly to react to what the other(s) park(s) do.

- Having to deal with random events (weather, staff sickness, ride that could breakdown and having to choose to proactively or reactively changing a part, etc.)

- A real career mode with a sense of progression (start small and grow bigger)

- A scenario editor

- Having to wait for a ride to be build like in real life

Maybe this one, but I'm not sure if it would really add fun:
- A more meaningful time/finances (adjustable timeframe to be closer to real life, finances more accurate for the rides prices, close park with guests leaving, etc.)

All good points, The additional items in the shops just seem a bit pointless at the moment. I still haven't played the a lot of the newer scenarios to see if its improved or not, due to the backwards capacity. I have never run into performance issues on my system as I have no desire to touch Sandbox modes, and I am waiting to finish the Scenarios before I touch Challenge Mode. Not everybody are creative types,

Frontier has to appease all types of players, which they have done in there major updates. The management/career side which attracts a smaller group of fans just needs a bit more love :misselly:

Sure, for the moment, there's more builder, but is it because there's more builder that play this kind of game or because PC management and gameplay is lacking some polish and functionality? Probably that when this will improve, the game will attract more players interested of managing parks.

exactly ! newer games like prison architect or rimworld have been sold very very well and if frontier would improve the management/simulation aspect i think it wouldnt harm their sales at all. i think they would even make more money. there are thousands maybe millions of players out there waiting in the desert for water.

I am not against enhancing management for Planet Coaster, but all I read is "add stuff and things" nothing detailed on what to do and how it will work. Don't mind reading a wall of text that contains a good plan.

Scenario editor will solve a lot of difficulty problems people have.

Remember playing a game too much, may make it look boring.

We've discussed a lot already, not sure what else needs detailing.

is that supposed to help? it doesnt even make sense

Discussed a lot all over the forums? Perhaps it's time to recap everything in a clear and clean post.

As for playing too much, I reckon a lot of people here have been playing since beta or sooner, which means time for a break or realize you exhausted the game's potential.

people still enjoy RCT 1 and RCT 2 from many years ago... this bran new game called Planet Coaster is still releasing new content... people are not bored from over playing it, but some people wish the scenarios are better. I don't see how it helps to say "your playing too much" when that is in fact not the case

I'll gladly recap, if you have some sort of input on what specifically you like or dislike about management?

great points [up] the UI definitely could use improvements, along with the current staff features

yeah i completely forgot to mention qol improvements. for example since months the blueprints pop up first when u switch menus and stuff . this is almost driving me nuts sometimes. i want the old way back.

People do not play RTC 1 or 2 the same amount of time they play Planet Coaster. Taking the game off the shelf every now and then is completely different.
Anyone "burned out" of it's current content playing since it was possible, may get impatient over new content they want.
Just have patience and see what a next patch brings, instead of making new threads every week. Not just you personally.

thanks for your input :) I think this game had an alpha and feedback section for a reason

And developing a game takes time and also even though you do not believe it, but adding new features that require processing power will make issue's players have now only worse.
It annoys me that the current attitude for getting extra management features is "Not today, but yesterday"

now you are making assumptions about what I am capable of understanding :( you know what assumptions do right?

Nobody said anything like that. We are saying what we hope to see "SOON" or in the near future... your twisting our words bro please stop

see how nice the OP was being?

Things I'd like to see,
- Restrooms should get dirty and janitors have to clean them. Vandals will TP the place.
- obviously weather with effects like hot/cold effecting water rides and hot/cold drink stalls. Rain would cause less guests to ride and they tend to sit around on benches and wonder more, waiting out the rain.
- heat maps for vandalism, litter and theft. Something that shows us where our major trouble spots are that need improvement.
- stall stock gameplay in some form or another.

I have more of a problem with the current functionality of the game than wanting entirely new management concepts,

- a better understanding as to why guests prefer some food/drink over the others
- Guests should buy fast pass when park queues are long. The longer the queues the more fast pass buyers. My 6,000+ guest park with full queues have empty fast pass lines and only a couple dozen will buy them a month.
- prestige can be wonky for some rides. I think they fixed Victory in last patch, I'm getting full queues with that ride now. Whirly Rig is still a pain.
- guests don't react quick enough to their demands. A lot of times they walk right by a stall that they need because they're forced into their next designation. Maybe this is a performance issue. If guests were constantly changing their routes, that's more calculations they have to make.
- guests with less than $5 should just leave the park and stop thinking they're going to find some magical $0.50 ride. They feel really dumb in this area. They should know they can't afford the ride they're heading to.

We really need a master "Wish List" thread stickied at the top of this forum.

There was one during alpha, but it was removed because it was nearly impossible to keep up dated when people have so many different opinions, and it stops people from posting new threads. Whatever is popular is what what gets discussed the most anyway :)

I would like a heatmap to highlight certain trouble area's. It's all good giving me a message there's litter in the park, but I shouldn't go to ground level search mode to find where I forgot to add a few bins :)
edit: Highlight all bins park option

Guests are indeed a little bit stupid when it comes to making decisions on where to next. Seen guests go to a ride, realize they don't have the cash for it, walk right by a ATM to pick up a drink, get to the loo, back to a ride they can't afford and then walk to an atm.

In my opinion flat rides shouldn't be even within the prestige system.
Maybe only first 2 years they'll considered new enough to draw a crowd, after that their just like most non coaster rides in real life parks ...... filler.

Oooooooo how about highlight all trash or vandalized objects? I'd be totally down for something like that!
