Four sided midway games a programmers nightmare?

It either wasn't there or open at least when I went so didn't know. Kinda moot point as nothing against them. Just don't see the big deal about them having to be there now and in game at launch.

Those that want it are especially those of us that want to make facsimiles of real parks. Kind of hard if a huge presence of most parks are missing.

Honestly I haven't noticed them at least not at Thorpe Park which is the most local to me. But yeah I have no issues with them as such. Just feel flat rides, coasters and then management structures come first then this which is why I would be happy with DLC later on.

Thorpe park definitely does have them, just mostly around the more children oriented areas

I personally want diversity in the types of entertainment when the game launches and stuff like this will add another level to the game for guests while also making money. I don't get the opposition to this and i'm not amused by people saying it should be pushed to a DLC. We are still half a year before release, so our reaction for anything that isn't substantially difficult shouldn't be pushing it further away.

Midway games are a very common thing in many parks (especially smaller ones) because they are quick money and are a quick fix for boredom of wandering guests. With the way the building system works in this game, midway games can be added into scenery/structures and be a really fun addition to the surrounding neighborhoods around rides. It would add a new levels to an area of shops or even liven up the base of a castle or main square. I think people aren't thinking of them mixing with scenery and how it will bring areas to life.

I can see a long row of Skeeball machines and other money-grabbers in a pavilion or other covered-yet-open area:

Exactly, and this is a economic and management game that is joyfully set in an amusement park. Games add a wonderful economic and management opprotunity. for the player.

As John Laws said we are building this wonderful machine to get the money out of the people. We want them to leave with as little money as possable, preferably none.

Exactly... It would add more flavor to the game and make for some excellent facilities to flesh out our buildings with so it's not all burgers, milkshakes, hats, and toilets in our little main street areas...

Back in the day I created an Arcade Pack for the RCT3 community. Unfortunately my hard crashed and I had no way to recover all the work I have done.

I released a beta version because it was a work in progress and I didn't want to mess the game. I had so many arcades and midway machines that I wanted to add to the final release so all that project got postponed.

I'm actually waiting for Frontier giving us some UGC user import tool or give us a way to import our 3D models and I would love to recreate them again. [big grin]

Thanks to the wayback machine I found the first page of my post at the other game community.

That's not really what we are talking about but it sounds awesome. That's one thing I would like from UGC. Stuff for the insides of the buildings.
