I do not want a water park expansion. That's my opinion.

Water parks and theme parks are not the same and I never liked it in RCT3.

I appreciate your effort, but i am with Luuknoord on this one. Waterparks are in my mind a completely different Beast and probably deserve their own Game, or in RCT3s case a proper Addon, not just a DlC. Mixing the two Things feel a bit weird. There are some Flatrides that Fit into a Waterpark, but those are rare.

Maybe some "Tracked Rides" even:

But to be honest i much prefer them in a Theme Park environment.

Of course these are my personal opinions, and if a Waterpark DLC or Addon happens, that would be ok.

theyve said over and over again that they have no plans for doing water parks. That’s not exactly a dlc its a whole new game.

Bumper/Rowing Boats, Swan Rides, etc, they'll be ok........, where the Peeps keep their Clothes on in other words [big grin]

I would also like to see more Theme Park related water based rides instead of a Water Park Expansion. Rowing Boats, Swan Boats like NoNameCity wrote above, some flat rides like this

and especially a new station platform for boarding on water rides like this:

And to be honest ... it is really a shame, that Frontier let us a little alone with more water based rides, as some creative people created for their old RCT3 some really stunning ride ideas like this:

thats cool

Oh are we playing semantics?.... let me play! [tongue]
there are many "amusement" parks that also have water slides... why does the game PLANET COASTER have to revolve around just only "theme" parks.... zzzz.... this video game is not forced to follow your fake arbitrary restrictions of being a certain thing, people have built many things in this game including famous architectual buildings like the leaning tower of piza or replicas of the titanic and all sorts of things that are not about theme parks, this video game is not called Theme Park and does not need to be restricted in such ridiculous ways... what if I want to build a carnival style fair or even a cruise ship like Disneys Carnivale in this video game, if I want to I can!

also you should look at all the videos of water parks that people have already made in this game

DLCs are lame, I mean the entire game is a "downloadable content" but the microtransaction "addons" that games use nowa-days are pretty lame, I miss the expansions of RCT3 and wish PC would follow suit

I'd love to see Water Parks in PC, but I can't get my hopes up that it will ever happen. Even if it did, I doubt it would be satisfying unless they changed some core mechanics of the game.

The sad part about it is that water parks will never get a fully fleshed out game. No company would be willing to make it, and indie developers don't have the resources to make one. The only way that we'll ever see water parks in a fully expanded form is in Planet Coaster, and that's probably not gonna happen either.

Thank you breezeehog. Drives me crazy how some people want to place PC in one box.

I don't put it in a box. I just like everybody else here say if I like a idea or not.
If I was only responding to things I like,it also means that things I don't like might be coming to the game.

And that you don't like my thought about it is fair, and I accept that.

It's not about semantics. That's breezers lame excuse to reply.

I hate swimming, that's also a reason for me not wanting it.

But itf it comes it comes, if it's a DLC (which it would probably be) I would not buy it.

I'd rather have them spend their precious time on something else.

I understand that you don't care for water parks, and I'm perfectly fine with that. I don't care for resorts.
All I'm saying is that others do want it, and that's okay with me. We all play Planet Coaster in different ways.

Its fine if you "dislike" something, I was just making a point that its silly to say pools or slides dont belong in this game, many many people have requested water parks, and the splashed expansion was extremely popular for RCT3, probably my favorite expansion for any of the RCT games

Water parks are probably not going to happen since Frontier would have to change the way guests work. Right now groups cannot be split.

I'm not sure why that would matter too much. I thought it had more to do with the water physics. In fact, I'm wondering why do we have a post on water slides in the first place? It's a bit too soon to ask.

There is a stand-alone water park game. It’s called Water Park Tycoon. The guest AI and the water physics are some reasons why water parks aren’t possible now. RCT3 was coded differently to allow waterparks.

I want water slides and whatnot as much as others, but the fact is, this is a DEAD HORSE. Frontier has said this isn't possible so just accept it and move on. I mean, it's pretty obvious with a bit of thought. Water slides require peeps to exit at a different place than they get on, which is contrary to all PC rides. Hopefully, they'll make a PC2 someday that will address such issues but for the foreseeable future, there's no point in mentioning water parks stuff.

We have to accept then that PC was coded differently than RCT3 and they cut some corners. It was a rush job. Only now do we have more rides and scenery because of the dlc packs. It’s Frontier’s fault that working water slides and pools aren’t possible in the current game engine. But, they could remake the dinghy slide from RCT 1-3 because it is a complete circuit with a lift hill like a coaster. That should be possible. The bobsled coaster is similar.

Yes, we know Planet Coaster is coded differently than RCT3 (not surprising since it is 10+ years between them) but I don't believe we can say that they cut corners. We don't know how the discussions went during the design phase and what they wanted to archive. If they had a plan and then removed stuff from that plan, then you can argue cutting corners. I am not aware of any such situations. They hacve never said they would do water parks etc. The problem a lot of people seems to have is that they compare this game with RCT3. They have said it is not the same game, it does not build on the same foundation etc. They had different goals with Planet Coaster than for RCT3. Good or bad, that is up to each person to decide. But regardless of decision, it has no impact on whether or not they "cut corners" or took the game in a direction "you" did not like.

Was it a rush job? Do we know that or is that your "feeling"? Also, I would not say that it is Frontier's "fault" that there are no water slides. How can it be anyone's fault that something is not in the game, or possible to have in the game, if it was not meant to be in the game in the first place? I cannot recall anywhere where Frontier said that they were hoping to do water parks in this game. That is something people has made up and then it has become the "truth". Not sure it is fair to blame a company for not implementing something that was never on the radar to be implemented in the first place. That is like being mad at EA for not making a floor-ball game. They have make NHL game and it is "close enough". I know it is a bad example since everyone hates EA by default but the point is still true.
