General / Off-Topic Next-Gen Graphics, Plummeting GPU Prices and whatnot...

With all the talk flying back and forth of the best possible GPU to run Planet Coaster, this could be interesting to bring up on here. Over the past few weeks I've been reading various articles ranging from Nvidia apparently dropping a next generation GPU ("GTX 1180") sometime next month...and to sweeten the deal, the cost of GPUs are set to PLUMMET, supposedly due to the declining demand for cryptocurrency, which could be great news for gamers...especially the PlanCo family!

If anyone else is aware of this, this is the discussion for you.

I'm hoping for PlanCo2 to be announced within the next year with better performance and graphics

Chances that a second version of Planet Coaster will be announced within a year from now are very slim. David Braben, CEO of Frontier, has said that Frontier is currently working on 2 new games. My guess is that Planet Coaster 2 is not among those two.

Regarding the topic of this thread; Planet Coaster will most likely benefit more from CPU’s with higher single core clock speeds than from higher end GPU’s.
