General / Off-Topic RCT 3 Old Footage / Devblog

Hey, do you know whether there is some early development footage of RCT 3 or devblogs? If not, wouldn't it be nice to see some of it?

A ton of that content was hosted on the old Atari website along with the old INA-Community/Ataricommunity forums. All of which does not exist any more, and you have to remember that RCT3 was well before YouTube was a massive website of videos. :(

Tried checking Dailymotion and Gamespot?

Oh dear, I feel old now

I honestly don't remember them putting out a lot of dev material, if any at all. It was pretty much the announcement, some screenshots, the trailer, hands on at E3 or with some game sites, a demo and then it was out. I remember staring at these screenshots for an unhealthy amount of time,

I know this isn't early footage but it's fun to see. Here was the first trailer shown for the game, (horrible quality)

Lots of memories back then on the forums where everyone started fighting about how cartoony it was with comparisons to Theme Park World/Sim Theme Park. RCT3 definitely began the split down the base on how an RCT game should look. It came out when I was starting college and my roommate laughed at me for playing a kids game. Ha! [heart]

Also when the demo came out it didn't run very well which caused the community to roar some more. I think Frontier put out a performance patch for the demo? Might be wrong.

I think Frontier did an amazing job taking their cartoony look in RCT3 and blending it with realism for Planet coaster.

Ah, 240p - we meet again. [haha]

I actually do remember this being hotly debated on the Atari forums. Those were some fun discussions back then, a very heated subject all around - before and after the release of the game.

We might have something listed on our RCT3 forum on the main frontier forums here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=5 :)

Poor site died at 13 [cry]
It's always mindblowing going threads on sites years old and seeing "Happy birthday", then scrolling down more and seeing "Happy Birthday" again.

The atari forums were so awesome!! This brings back so many memories.. especially of the game :(.

I still have it installed on my PC. It is the steam version, but that's only because I couldn't find my original RCT cd's..

In all its poor styled and low-textured glory.[yesnod]
See we're just showing our age with posts like that. I pulled out my box of games in the attic the other day and found RCT1 and RCT2 (with all the expansions). Is it sad to say I've got 100+ games collecting dust? So many memories...That's the one thing I could say is bad about digital collections. No disc or box to look at later to reminisce (or however you spell it).
