Intamin (Prototype Wing & Launced) Track Brace Distance Problem

I've always felt there was something 'off' about how the Tiamat & Launched Coaster looked in Planet Coaster. When looking further, the real big thing I noticed is the distance between the triangular braces in the track. In Planet Coaster, they are far more spaced out than in the real implementations of the track (Skyrush, Formula Rossa, Intimidator 305, etc). This leaves the track looking kind of strange and frail.

I guess this was done due to performance reasons? I hope Frontier can change it so it more accurately represents the real life tracks, the in-game ones indeed look a bit frail, now that you mention it. My biggest complaint about the Tiamat is not the braces in the track however, it is the horrendous lift hill. For some reason it has pre-made lift hill pieces, which is strange since it is just a normal lift hill. Although it is not that big of a deal since pre-made pieces can be made to look more realistic right? Well not in Tiamat's case.. Its lifthill is incredibly unrealistic and looks ugly as well due to this. It even ends in a flat piece of track!

Maybe the Tiamat lifthill is an old relic from an earlier incarnation of the coaster builder? Who knows, but at the end of the day it is extremely unrealistic and unappealing which renders the whole coaster type useless for many players who want to make their parks look pretty/realistic.

And yes, this bugs me to no end since this problem has been in the game since this coaster was launched (second alpha if I remember correctly) and is STILL not fixed.

Welcome to the cause!

You aren't the only one upset about the new gen Intamin track. In addition to making the spines thicker, I would like for them to add a single spined track segment, allow the Sprint 500 to overbank, allow the Tiamat to invert, and for them to fix the Tiamat cable lift.

Dont forget 2 and 3 tube track for the Intamin Giga! [up]

I absolutely agree. It's great that we have some intamins in the game but the only one I like to work with is the megacoaster for now. My only complaint with the it is that it lacks the 2 and 3 tube tracks. The eurofighter does have this option which makes it even worse. I can't name a single megacoaster in real life that has it's entire layout fitted with 4 tube track. The tiamat looks pretty cool tbh. The cars look awesome and I can get over the spacing of the trackbeams. But the lifthill however... WHY?! The lifthill of the megacoaster would have worked just fine so why do it this way and not even a proper way? I really hope they will fix stuff like this because alot of prebuilt trackpieces make no sense.

I agree. They do some really great things and provide some seriously well designed coasters (such as the RMCs and Woodies, beautifully done), but then things like the Tiamat just look downright terrible.

I want to add one thing, if this is because of performance issues, how come this track in planet coaster has the braces more commonly? The braces here are square (less poly), but also have the angled tubes on the side of the track. If this track had the double spline, it'd be more like the intamin track than the Tiamat's...

And don't forget both types Tamia and Sprint 500 have inverted elements meanwhile. We already showed the one which resembles the Tamia in Dubai and now this:

(Ispeed and Red fire)

If they would lift the Coaster Restrictions, like it was in Alpha 1, it would be no problem to recreate them. Though i guess they won't.

I Speed is an Intamin Blitz coaster, the Sprint 500 is the new generation Intamin Accelerator and they do not invert (only two in existence right now).

Yea they are all launch coasters but different categories. Buuuut... I think all coaster types in the game should have all restrictions removed. Why? because they go against the core idea of the game: creativity. And they only restrict those who want to built realistic coasters. If you want to make a coaster that would crush all guests to death you can easily achieve this in the game already, so realism is a bad argument from Frontier for these restrictions to exist. During the summer stream, people asked about the minimum track length, then Sam explained that the minimum track length is determined by the coaster cars so they can't clip because clipping is not realistic. Well you can already clip coasters cars and why have realism here when you can build a coaster that pulls 20g's... Again, it only restricts those who want to make realistic coasters. Not that clipping is realistic, but longer track segments offer way less control over the shape of the track.

The only reason for the restrictions is career mode and possibly challenge, as they make each coaster type more 'unique' in what it can do and that way it can offer certain challenges. In Sandbox mode we should be able to remove these restrictions as they serve no purpose. [up]

Yeah, it's tough to control the shaping of the track with long segments, and impossible to make small, but realistic transitions with long segment lengths. Not only on coasters, but on tracked rides as well.
Also, on a side note, if they were so concerned about cars clipping/articulation, why did they add the "Red Steel" (a minor bit of clipping) and the "Thalette" (horrible offender) as blueprints?
