Disputing the claims should be enough for now. The responsibility to set this matter right is with TuneCore and the person who has committed the copyright infringement; not with the YouTubers.

sorry to say but i find it realy annoying for the people that have problems whit youtube.
but that guy is selling free songs on itunes. so he wants to earn money from use when the songs are free to use.
hope the team at frontier wil make a case of it and go to the police.

you are alout to use work from frontier for movies, but you are not aloud to make money out of there things. legally he does not own the rights for it to sell it.

I know at what you are hinting, but in this case, i don't think so. There is a significant difference between the punishments for things like just "you downloaded music, movies, games illegal" or the commercial use of media. If you rip media for your own financial benefit, the punishment can, and will be much harder.

All revenue from the claimed videos goes to the claimer instead of the YouTubers. Therefore he is benefiting from it financially, and he was selling the songs for money on the iTunes Store, however it appears to have been taken down, or it isn’t available in the UK.

No it is still up, but yeah might be a regional thing.

I think he is unaware of the Storm that's brewing over his head.

I haven't gotten any copyright claims on any of my YouTube Planet Coaster videos. Thankfully Frontier I think doesn't get like an agency or something to monitor use of their ingame music and stuff in my experience. However if you do a park showcase built by someone else, that person has a right to file a dispute since you're using a park created by them. If showcasing other peoples parks, it pays to give credit to them.

YouTube does allow you to dispute illegitimate claims (or if you feel the dispute is unjustified). Copyright law allows you to share content for the purposes of review etc.

Usually once you've uploaded a YT video and it's finished being processed, you can check if there's any claims. If there is, I find out what the issue is, delete the video, edit the claimant out, and repost. Companies are not allowed to go around filing false claims to content they don't even own lol. That can be considered as fraud "wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain." They pretend they own the content and they have a lol when YT has to give us a claim, thus the culprits have personally gained trying to damage our YouTube channel through YT's policy.

The YT copyright filter granted is not perfect. Fortunately I haven't gotten any strikes. That's why I check copyright notices once I post a video. That way in some situations I can delete the video before YouTube servers are able to process a strike.

If you notice that you really love a song and it could have copyright protection, try looking up that song on YT which is played by instrumentals, like a piano or guitar version of the song. That way YT servers won't pick it up as a claim. I did this with my Jurassic World Evolution videos. The Universal theme music sound which you get when you load that game, I use the electric piano music to that song, with no worries. Now I can't tell without risking if it's copyright or not the original soundtrack, but wouldn't want to take that risk. I think YT should give us the right to appeal strikes and reverse them or give us like 5 warning strikes first. Many of us put a lot of work on our YouTube channels. Some of us have been doing it since we were younger, or even kids.

The strikes aren't in relation to showcasing other people's content. It's just a dude who listed the in-game speaker music via TuneCore and that's what we're getting flagged for. The in-game music, Frontier stated, they want people to share and enjoy.

I don't have any claims either.

Not that I have a lot of video's. Also, I don't earn anything with Youtube, so maybe this only affects the people who are actually financially benefiting from Youtube?

No - it can also affect others as well as Youtube operates a 3 strike rule in relation to copyright strikes which is what claims can become in the event of failed disputes etc.

Okay thanks, than I probably didn't use music he registered.

If the music belongs to Frontier the original owner and if they give you permission, then you should have no issues with disputing it with youtube.

The real issue is how easy it is for somebody to just claim something on Youtube. The Person being wrongly accused has all the hassle, because he has to prove his innocence. That's not how it should work.

"Innocent until proven guilty" not the other way around. Youtube does it because it means less work on their part. This is unfuriating.

Very well worded, Crowdpleaser.

The moment you get a strike the effects are immediately in action. Either all revenue goes to the one who strikes you, or the video gets muted. All sort of stuff. It's so frustrating because it takes a long time to dispute, but you're missing out on revenue for larger YouTubers. And we all know that you get the most views in the first 24 hrs of uploading.

Yeah and well YouTube in general is going downhill sorry to say when they did the changes effected alot of people and well now it's all about watch time it seems YouTube I think don't care about the creators anymore it's more let's see how much we get off big YouTubers ie Felix still number 1 and I know he ain't short of a few quid but he is just clickbait now and YouTube allows that sort of rubbish on their platforms and well because of what he did it's now harder for everyone else and yes I admit after 4 years I am struggling to even gain an audience currently 100subs yes I am proud of that because I know i work hard to try keep alot and well even battling with depression and anxiety some days it's hard to look at the 100 and wish things were better I am not a big YouTuber but the whole system of YouTube is just flawed and they don't even help people it's just money money money now not like when it first launched (sorry didn't mean to rant lol)

Just saying one thing ive made a post and dunno if will be applied but im worryed cuz of the EULA of Planet Coaster.
I have millions views on youtube aswell but planet coaster does not specify or its very clear about using monetization on youtube videos.

If the company doesnt specify about monetization soon we all will join on the new duplication policy content.

Been using youtube during 2 years and some of my vids went viral. But now with new policy many things are changing on youtube. And they are very clever even commenting on the videos the channels can be demonetized etc.

Hope get some answers

Thanks in advance PewPew Peew.
