Maximum map size

Hi there

I have dabbled with Planet Coaster a bit but not really started a big project due to lack of time. When I do get chance to start a proper park, I want to have as much space as possible.

My question is simple:
When starting a new sandbox game and selecting any of the biomes, are these blank maps all same size and are they all the maximum size possible for a map? Are there any maps in the Steam workshop that provide larger playing areas?

Thanks

No, the size is fixed and cannot be changed unless a future update increases the buildable area. They already did increase the size last Nov, the parks were smaller before.

There seems to be a set limit by Frontier, the engine definately allows more. You can clearly tell where the playable/buildable map ends and where the 'fake skybox' starts. You can also use the paint terrain tool to see what I mean.

You could have maybe 10 something meters extra on the side and at the top. And at the bottom of the map (where the park entrance is) there could be another 50 meters maybe? But you can't build there at the moment.

I hope one day we will be able to buy more land in a scenario editor or something so we can build around the entrance too

I recommend building the park incrementally adding sections with a few rides and shops at a time, to find out what your computer can handle. As the park grows, it attracts more customers and thus frame rate drops. It appears that most folks run out of frame rate before they run out of real estate. It therefore seems like a good idea to first discover if you're limited by FPS before trying to build something too huge.

Do you think that there will be a mod or hack to be able to build outside of the white dotted line or modify the ground such as flattening it? Is that what that Reddit post is about?

The reddit post above about hacking files to be able to use more of the land in the park, the part that is normally off limits outside the white dotted line.

oh didnt see that, but it is is from last year so I doubt it works, maybe if we have mods some day
