Realistic Parks and Coasters

Hello,

I enjoy watching all of the Planet Coaster videos on YouTube and I really enjoy the theming that is possible in this game. I've seen some great theming but I haven't seen one realistic coaster yet. I can't wait for someone to build a realistic coaster in nice theming. All the videos I've seen have coasters with non-banked turns or banked turns in the wrong direction, and un-proportionate inversions. If I had a machine that could run this game, I would spend so much time and energy into making authentic and realistic parks or rides. Unfortunately, I'm not going to buy a Windows-based computer just to play one game. I'm a mac user and I run Bootcamp but apparently that's not good enough to run this game [where is it]

I mean, I've seen great B&M coasters in people's videos but it's so frustrating to see the dips and hills looking uneven and janky. I would promote Planet Coaster so much and run a Blog, YouTube Channel, a whole Site dedicated to the authentic and amazing realistic creations of this game. If only I could actually run the game on my machine. If only.....

The game should run fine under bootcamp if you laptop meets the minimum system requirements.

Cheers

unfortunately, it will be very hard to create realistic coasters with the current editor. As of Alpha 2, we still do not have the ability to build vertical track sections (at least for the Sprint 500 which I tested earlier) or custom inversions. Additionally, you will never get realistic banking without true heartline rolls. Another big issue is the very small limit for the length each track piece that can be placed at once. Sadly, Planet Coaster is falling short in the supposed main feature as the title Planet Coaster would suggest and it's very disappointing. [ugh]

Its the second alpha .. What do you expect exactly? If you have an issue bug report it, thats the point.

Show a little more respect to the devs on their own forum. [rolleyes]

Jealous? Other mac users have noted problems with a one button mouse, so different machines for different purposes, I guess?

As for the unrealistic turns? Well, its a video game and not real life, its fun and cartoony and did I mention fun? So yea who gives a flying fart... this is an alpha, people are still learning, creations and progress will continue to get better in time.

[woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah]

I don't see how I am being disrespectful in any way. I gave my opinions along with some suggestions on how the coaster editor can be improved to make more realistic coasters. None of my issues are bugs, but rather missing features and many others here have asked for them. The fact that they put in a coaster, Sprint 500, which is an Intamin Hydraulic launch coaster, and has no support for vertical track like man real life coasters (Kingada Ka, Top Thrill Dragster, Xcelerator, Stealth, Zaturn, Superman Escape, etc.) really baffles me. I understand it's Alpha, which is why I am giving my suggestions, however, compared to where most of the game is at right now, the coaster editor itself is lacking.

Woah fellas. We are not the other board. People here are allowed to be unhappy with something and mention it here on the board. A place where Frontier asked us to post "what did we do right? What did we not do right... spill the beans! We want to know your feedback, thoughts, ideas to make it right!"

Being able to make realistic coasters is important to many of us. There is a whole thread about what real world coaster we want to rebuild in game.

@dale - No this is a wining thread, if they want to suggest realism then make a thread about realism in the suggestions forum. This thread is about mac users being unhappy and how he wants to create a youtube channel but then he throws in the whole "not realistic" thing to get people to comment

But, SymphonyX that post should be under the early bird section for Alpha feedback. Mainly because it's something that only needs to be discussed with people that can play and test what you mentioned. Plus that's the forum frontier is monitoring for Alpha feedback.

Still no reason to attack. This is not the other fourm

This isnt the suggestions forum, and this thread is basically just been a wine tasting tour...

Maybe you should address your post to the OP, I was just commenting on his post. And why so much vitriol for not falling over my feet to praise Frontier for everything they do, which I have done many, many times on multiple aspects of this game which have blown me away.

Thank you Dalenotchip, very well said. I think we can all agree that the "fanboy" attitude does not help us nor Frontier. I want this game to truly be the best simulator ever created and that is the level of expectation I set for myself.

This is cute [heart]

Personally, I don't care how you read my comments but you take them differently then they are intended [happy] go start a new thread about realism, and who knows maybe i might actually agree with you!

I 100% agree and I will be posting a formal suggestion thread in the future after more rigorous testing. [up]

Of course it's a videogame...but it's also becoming the "real" successor of RCT3, so I think "semi"realistic-coaster building is an important feature. Nobody wants a NoLimits coaster-builder here, but the argument SymphonyX has given is more than valid.

The point is this isnt the right forum for this thread.

Maybe you should take a step back , re-read what you wrote and reflect on it a little more. As stated we are only just at Alpha 2 stage, there is nothing wrong with having a moan about the state of a game, when its released.

Sorry but your attitude stinks, and your post proved that, this has nothing to do with being a 'fanboy' or anything else (that just shows the level you want to have this discussion at).

In the end you were overly harsh given the state of the game, and expecting way too much this early on. If you can't make constructive criticisms then don't make them at all.

And you are overly harsh to SymphonyX...he just posted his opinion, that he's a bit disappointed about the coaster-builder. Maybe he should have posted it in the alpha section...but...he just answered a thread...so where's the problem. I don't think that he said something inappropriate.

I don't see anything wrong with Symphony's original post that started this silly squabble. He has a right to voice his concerns. Let's not start fights by policing each other and dictate what can and cannot be said where, that's for the mods to worry about.
