Pick-pocketing

I've just completed the first Chief Beef level (all objectives) with only one security guard and quite a few people getting pick-pocketed, but I didn't notice any negative repercussions other than some of the ones who were robbed leaving the park. Is pick-pocketing supposed to affect park rating or make guests avoid my park or something? Right now it feels like I can get away with leaving my guests to suffer [haha].

As far as I know, the crime rate will increase, if pickpockets leave your park successful.
-> You will get more crime and you will have more unhappy guests. (And I think it will decrease your rating in general, too)
If vandals destroy your benches and bins your scenery rating will decrease.

-> So jep, they will affect your park (in the length of time).

@PlanetChris - Thanks for the information!

@creaper -I completed it by the end of May Year 2 although not the way it was intended to be beaten, such as deleting the rides right after I complete an objective to save money. This is probably why I didn't notice anything, as I had 0 vandalism and pickpocketing seemed to be at a steady pace. I'm sure if I played a scenario much longer I would notice more negative repercussions. I'll report back if anything changes.

Thanks guys.

how long did it take to complete the scenario?

Im still playing, i like to play it slow lol, i gotta try every possibility first

and for the OP: i think the guest money will affect the profit you can earn. If their pocket money have been stolen, probably they will be unhappy and cant do anything else but going home... ive seen someone got 300$ stolen poor guy

$300?! Geez, the poor soul [haha]. Now I'm curious how much a guest can steal from another.

I'm not really sure how to deal with all the thefts. I beat the second Chief Beef scenario exceptionally quickly using my method, but it felt like the 6 Security Guards and cameras I had this time around were doing nothing. Regardless, the non-stop barrage of thefts didn't affect my park at all. Once again I'll try over a much longer play through and see if that changes anything.

You're welcome. :)

Do you have enough cams to cover your entire park? (Every cam covers a 15m radius)
These cams will provide your security guards with the information they need to find/chase a criminal.

Do you happen to know whether there's any way to show that radius visually? Like a button that toggles a circle on the terrain? Haven't been able to find one and can't really guesstimate what 15m ingame really is.

you can make a 15m wide path and just eyeball it

but a visual radius around the camera when its selected would be nice [up]

After completing the third Chief Beef scenario, I can safely say that pick-pocketing and security guards need some balancing, which is to be expected for an early new feature of the game. Despite having hundreds of cameras and security guards, I had the displeasure of seeing my own avatar getting robbed [haha] (I didn't even know they were in the game!).

But yeah, I'm not exaggerating, I must have had 500+ cameras scattered all across the park where guests could walk, and at least 100+ security guards. I only built 4 other rides relatively close together, averaging at about 1700 guests with a theft rate between 0.06-0.09%, yet they still got robbed left right and center! It's also annoying how people can get robbed outside of your park, where you have no control over it. I even experimented by removing all but 1 ride, and leaving the guests in a small area fully covered by cameras and security guards, but people still managed to get robbed.

To quote one of my guests, I feel "security guards are useless!" and a complete waste of money. For the first time I felt it was necessary to train some of my security guards to the maximum skill level, yet they still got outrun by guests VERY easily. Even before I hired hundreds of other security guards, the five I had complained about heavy workflow despite hardly doing anything and almost never apprehend the criminals they were chasing. They also wanted waaaay too much money for just walking around as well. Do fully trained guards even get an increase in stamina?

In the end, I went from having $40k to $-8k in order to complete the hard objective of keeping theft rate below 0.20% by placing all the security/cameras. Overall, I have enjoyed the new update, and look forward to seeing updates to security if there will be any. Also, if people have more insight on how I should tackle handling these thefts, that would be appreciated! I'm always willing to learn more about this game, especially if I'm wrong or doing something incorrectly.

If you find a pick pocket peep yourself can you do anything about it? I clicked on one guest and the comments she was making let me know she was a pick pocket. She walked past cameras and security staff and nothing happened! I was shouting at the screen, "Get her!! Shes right here!!" [haha] she'd already pick pocketed too as she has the "from yours to my pocket" comment thing but nobody caught her!!! I wish there was an option to call a security guard or something so it makes the game play a bit more fun because right now its frustrating as hell if you catch a pick pocket but can do nothing about it!

This option is already in the game. :D
If you've clicked on the guest -> Head over to the last tab with the group informations and you can click on "eject group". -> The closest scurity guard will eject him/her. :)

thanks [up] ive literally just wasted the last 2 hours of my life hunting down pick pockets. its really satisfying when you can catch one [squeeeeee]

... Turns out I'm the useless security guard, haha! Once again, thanks for the information Planet Chris! Can't believe I didn't bother to look and see you could do this.

Just found out, Guests can also get pick pocketed on rides! [woah]
I don't think, that this should be possible in general. - I guess just in old saves.
Pickpockets normally don't enter any ride. :)
If the message came when the guest was on a ride, doesn't have to mean, that the pickpocket is on that ride, too. - I'm not sure, but it seemed to me, like the guests need a while to notice, that they got pickpocketed. (Like in reality)
