Why are people complaining about DLC

Why put a limit on where the max we would pay for DLC (combined)? If they keep putting out good DLCs that adds value for you, why limit it? If it is good, you will pay. If it is not what you won, you will pass. If that, over the life of the game, ends up being $500, is that bad? The other model would be what EA is doing with many of their games, releasing a new version every year. Let's assume the price is $60 for a new game on average. In just 3 years you have spent $180 and just gotten marginal changes from year to year (some cases).

You still don't get it do you...The BASE GAME needs sorting we have complained for eons and nothing much has been done this why I am protesting with regard to DLC purchase, if we united then Frontier would be forced to address the REAL problems! I have no problem with DLC purchase as long as base game is competent and DLCs are fair in their build (eg always have extra animatronics as an example) they need to listen to the people who want the longevity of the game!

I don't think anyone really has argued that the licensed DLCs were the best thing since sliced bread. In fact, most people were a little disappointing about what they contained. The argument and discussion about those DLCs should be over. It is in the past. If Frontier has tread the feedback we won't see DLC like those going forward anymore. We didn't with the Spooky pack which was much bigger and better. End of story. IF they keep putting out similar DLCs like the licensed ones over and over, then you have an argument, but why not give them the benefit of the doubt? They have shown that they listen to the community (to a certain degree). As mentioned, the Spooky pack is one sign of that. People should look at the glass half full instead of half empty.

No matter what Frontier decides to release ad a free DLC vs. a paid you will have the same number of people (not necessarily the same people as tastes are different) complain about the way it was done. You can't make everyone happy.

Exactly why I bought them too. I didn't even know (still don't) what Munster is but it didn't matter. I saw it as an investment in Frontier that i may get something that I potentially could use somewhere.

Did Frontier listen or do they see the DLC sales fall and that's why the changed strategy, me thinks they did not do it out of love!

I'm not sure if requiring extra animatronics is going to be something that will help. The problem for some isn't what users tell them, it's how it's told (and if it's not in the right way they are more likely to ignore it - just like what happened in one of the Spooky livestreams where certain people were not pleasant in the chat.

Good point. Personally, I would ignore people who keep demanding things loudly.

Yet another thread morphs into "complaining about communication".

The demanding, ranting, etc escalates because people feel ignored and unheard.

I don't agree with it, but I understand it.

Nothing wrong with complaining about the game! People paid good money for it. Maybe the devs. should think about releasing a game thats not bug filled or dlcs in the game that you have to pay for.

There's 'complaining' and there's 'over the top complaining' I'm afraid. Constructive feedback is always helpful but sometimes on here it seems to go beyond that and becomes destructive which no-one wants.

You must understand people will be more and more frustrated with the game if nothing changes. People are complaining since the release actually, but since Frontier does ignore a lot of things (at least sort of reaction on some problems would have been nice), people who complaint are not frustrated and louder than they used to be. And that is only a good thing, if anything, this can only push Frontier to do something or at least start communicating.

This basically. It is fairly easy to notice how the tone of reactions here slowly shifts to more and more frustration. And although I am not saying this is a good thing, it is understandable.

Thanks Sugar - Once upon a time I gave many indeth ideas, always pro Frontier, would not hear one bad thjing about them then time killed all that when I realised it appears they have no real intention of sorting out the bugs on the base game. Chems has also been here from the start and although he does not protest 'extremely like some' he has complained periodically and graphically on many a thread on this forum about certain bugs which need serious attention.

So to Shane and alike you need to understand the feeling of being duped is present, we were not always like this!

I don't have any faith left in Frontier at all. The sheer avarice of releasing a stuff pack that should have been in the original game, alongside completely ignoring the massively unfinished features this game contains is pretty disgusting to me. I'm sure all the apologists will come along and tell me that I'm being entitled, and to be honest I don't care. I used to sit and fight FD's corner when people were mean or rude about them because I thought it was unfair to criticise such an incredibly talented and passionate team of people. While the people working for them are no less talented or passionate, whoever is heading this project needs sacking.

I honestly only came to these forums this time around because I'd gotten pretty excited about this expo thing, naive as I am for thinking it might actually be the start of some improvement to the gameplay, but now it's crystal clear that all they want to do is sell cosmetic nonsense for the game we've already paid for. Blergh.

Well you know, they didnt just have the whole frekaing game created and decide to break it up into dlcs to take your money. they were created after the game was so that people wont get bored of their game after a few weeks. And they will keep making new content to provide to thoes still playing.

I totally agree with you Iceboundjester8. I think so far Frontier is doing a great job with all the content so far. Some bug fixes take longer to get fixed but they eventually do get fixed. I can't wait to see what other content Frontier has in store for Planet Coaster.

thats a big assumption to make... back when the game first launched we voted on a certain ride to be added into the game and yet all of the choices were added in because they have a lot of stuff sitting on the back burner... just like the barbershop quartet which we all have seen pictures of since alpha... obviously certain things are being updated but certain things are also finished ahead of time and placed on hold that is a fact... the devs even told us they bumped up water rides to be released ahead of schedule and pushed the gokarts back for the summer update so people wouldnt have to wait for water rides... thats the price we pay with modern DLC versus having to release a finished product to store shelves and great marketing just sucks people in who dont know any better

Can we do an oceanside (beachside with waves, seagulls, beach sounds) park with boardwalks jutting out into the water yet?

It looked like there were things on piers in the DLC shots but I suspect they are just lakes :/

Yes, Bo said currently there are no plans to add new biomes .

I don't recall hearing this. Do you recall where or when she said that?

If so, it's a shame. There are a lot of requests for other biomes. I appreciate they are hard to create, but they bring so much more to the game!

Bo said in her one on one interview the day before launch. She said that Biomes and Biome skirts are very art intensive and there are no plans to add new ones. She also added never say never though.

She said that on a Schematics Podcast when I remember correctly.
