Roller Coasters [STORMFRONT] custom supported Intamin Gigacoaster [WIP]

Hello everyone,

I've been a longtime fan of the rollercoaster tycoon games and rollercoasters in general. So as soon as I saw this game I saw a true successor to my beloved franchise. The abilities you have in this game seem endless to me, so it didn't take long before I started this project. As soon as I finished the coaster itself, I had to get rid of the lifthill supports. They're cool though, but I wanted something different! So after quite some time I got results that I was pleased with. Buuut.. The supports just did'nt match the rest of the coaster so yea.. I knew I had to do them all. Very tedious work I have to admit, but the result is simply breathtaking! (and I hope you guys agree!) Keep in mind though that there are A LOT of objects in the supports alone (my guess would be atleast 40 to 50k!!) so I was rather limited to the rest of the scenery. And while I do have quite the PC to handle it all, others might not have that luxury. But enough about that all, let's talk coaster specs!

Stormfront stands 94m (308ft) tall, with a first drop of 85 degrees. Here it reaches a topspeed of 150km/h. (93mph) It count's 5 airtime moments and sorta inverts 2 times. The layout itself is inspired by Intimidatotor 305 at Kings Dominion and therefore has long 270 degree curves that are taken at high speeds!

Enough talk for now, expect a full release of this project soon (and yes, that includes a BLUEPRINT OF ALL THE SUPPORTS for your personal use)

But for now.. enjoy these pictures!

I could never have the patience to do custom supports like that, a lot of people have asked for user-defined supports and other support features which I would probably never use. But this is a great example of what custom supports can do, it really does look cool to have unique and/or more realistic supports instead of the current system which sometimes puts too many. Is this based on a real life coaster or your own work? IMO it seems like there could be one more support on the lift hill closer to the station

Thank you. It's based on Intimidator 305 in Kings Dominion. It actually has only 2 supports for the entire lifthill structure. Pretty cool stuff actually.
My coaster is a variation on that coaster.

That looks indeed very pretty. I just hope we get a slider in the coaster editor where we can pick where we want the supports. Would be very easy and make everything very realistic

Very nice work! The time investment definitely paid off, accentuating the coolness of the basic layout.

Thank you!

Yes, I would love something like that. That or some new basic shapes that can reduce my part count.

Hello everyone!

Today I have some progress on my coaster to show. It's all about adding the final small details now and binding all the terrain together. I added some more trees around the renovated station plaza and made some adjustments to the coaster itself. I added the cable winch at the start of the lift-hill and made some more progress on the transfer track and train storage building.

Also I worked on the support set for you all. The downside however? The 2 lift-hill supports. 1 support already contains over 2600 parts!
So, I have to split up the support a bit somehow so any ideas about how to do that would be appreciated!

Enjoy the rest of the photo's and until the next update!

thank you! It's the machinery for the Cable lift system which was something I just had to include. Glad you like it!

Excellent work. Sadly, I am sure it took way to much time to build.

Yes, this took quite some time to build so I hope you like it!
