Real time hours and money management tool (Extreme Realism)

How about an extreme mode where time flows as if it were true? (equal to our time)

How about an option in the scenario mode where we can choose the hourly rates that each attraction must have, the hourly wage of the employees, the hourly costs of electricity etc? In this way we may be able to simulate the exact costs as in reality [big grin]

Ahah !

With a dedicated computer to run PlanetCoaster 24/24 and 7/7 ? [big grin][big grin][big grin]

No thanks. It's still a game. At the end of the day it needs to be fun. Running a "24/7" business is not my idea of fun. ;)

-Edit: is there a way to make your images/gifs smaller?

Remember, it's going to be a game for everyone. I'm all for an adjustable time system, but real time might be a step too far.

I like the real-time idea. Not sure about the other little details though haha.

But it could possibly be a cool expansion pack.

Do you really have a life where you can sit at your computer to play a sim that is a 1:1 representative of life? So you want the park to be open from 8am to 11 pm, which is 15 hours. Are you going to play for 15 hours just to see one day pass in the game?

Not only extreme, but absurd. And if it takes extra programming to deliver, the number of owners that want to see that has to be so small as not to be cost effective. You want to plan out and build a coaster in real time, that would take hundreds of hours. To see the park add new rides and other offerings once open, by the time you finish the park PC 4 will be out.

[...] And what do you think of the second question? (money management tool)
To answer the second question, for me, the realism is one thing, but the fun is another. I think the PlanetCoaster goal is to be as realistic as possible, UNTIL it gets boring (something, I admit, should not be an easy task for Frontier).

My philosophy is : If it's realistic AND fun or help the gameplay, then put it in the game, if's it's just something "close to the reality" but brings nothing, it's useless.

- choose the hourly rates that each attraction must have : Depends if we have a Night/Day cycle. (we talk about this here)
- choose the hourly wage of the employees : The idea seems interesting, and it might be fun, but only if it's simple. (again if we have a Night/day cycle then the "hourly wage" is important)
- choose the hourly costs of electricity : This is definitely going too far. I just wanna know the "overall cost" for each rides, without necessarily going into details.

But it's just my opinion.

It think if we could implement this in a way, were we could have this it would make for the game to be fun. I think a more advance mode would be neat something you could select if you want to do, maybe even choose what options you want to have. Say you want to choose real time, small start money, hills - no hills, amount of water and more. It would be kinda neat I think and add a new level of playing. But if you don't like this idea or don't want to then we could have other modes to take care of it as well.

I like the idea of a park that opens and closes at points determined by the player on a daily basis and on / off season (park empties completely and starts afresh the next day), where the level of custom is determined by the time of the year (busier during summer, quieter when the weather is bad etc) and having a park playable while closed over night or out of season (which is customisable by the player.. So if I want the park open 24 hours it can be... or 10am - 6pm, it can be... but the FULL 24 hours is still playable) so that rides can continue to be built, improvements made and maintenance completed.. But not on a 1:1 representative scale :)

This would be ideal. Park hours would be a great for the game, a park needs to close every once in a while to get properly cleaned and maintained.

I like this idea too. [up]

Yeah I like this idea.

yeah!

Adding to my original idea after some thought, there probably should be an option to "skip" the off season too.. In case you do still want to play in seasons, but not play the off season bit - just in case the novelty of the seasons thing wears off and you just want to play a full, working park... But I guess that's the idea of the 24 hour opening suggestion that came with it.. Hmmm..
