First off, look at the smokebox doors of the trains here:
I would like to see the Connie Express engine have a smokebox more like the Iron Horse. It doesn't have to be exactly the same, but I would like to see it have some more detailing than it currently has.
Second, I'd like to be able to have the tracks flush with the ground, maybe even with a ballasted trackbed, and NOT lowering the ground beneath it, even in tunneling mode (same goes for the other transport rides).
Third, at-grade crossings with the footpaths would be nice (see this thread: https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/32166-Railroad-Crossing-Suggestion)...
Fourth, when having more than one train, I'd like to be able to make each train different colors, as well as different trains. (For example, running three trains: one train being an Iron Horse and the other two Connie Express style, or one Iron Horse, one Connie Express, and one of whatever other style train that comes out in the future...)
Finally, more train designs, such as a British-style engine, like this one:
An 1890's style, like the Connie Express's counterpart:
And maybe even a modern diesel:
