I am new to the game, maybe 300 hrs or so. In the meantime I have come across a lot of the various aspects of it and I must admit I love it so far.
I was able to pick up a Krait MkII recently and fit it out for deep core asteroid mining. I did this already with my Asp Exp but it was mostly for learning the different techniques available rather than for earning money. Now with the Krait I wanted to shovel some money to live calm and in peace for some time without the daily hassle and worry about my bank account.
Of course there is a question coming now, it's about the stacking of seismic charges and disabling them on core asteroids.
During my last mining tour I overcooked some asteroids - still leaning about the right amount of charges of course. On one of the occasions where I disarmed charges because I was already in the red zone I failed to disarm all of them in time and the resulting small explosion failed to crack the asteroid. When I went back to it to try again I realized that the former fissures where I placed charges did not exist anymore - OK, sort of realistic. Therefore I went placing a new charge on one of the remaining High Strength fissures. But despite I did not place a high charge there the intensity of the explosive would immediately go into the red band. So I disarmed the charge and tried again on another High Strength fissure - again the same result, immediately into the red, despite the placed load was even smaller. I wonder why?
Is this because the previous explosion has weakened the asteroid and all remaining fissures are Low Strength now? Do disarmed charges still count to the load, i.e. they explode with the others? I did not read anything about that so far.
Thanks a lot for any clarification from the more experienced commanders.
