Shame on you fdev

Oddly I seem much much happier than you about the game despite you being the one of us that chose to pay FDEV extra.

Proof that you just can't buy happiness maybe.

You seem to be happier than anyone about this game no?
Anyway, i bought what i bought to support the game that gave me so many hours of enjoyment. I never complained about the pricing of the game or the pricing of the only dlc we had, quite the opposite.. i always wanted more content and more frequently. No problem in paying for a nice AND PROPER dlc every year. So buying some skins (about 6 i think) and 3 bobbleheads was my way of supporting the company that created this amazing game. Doesn't stop me ofc from seeing the negatives that go on for years and it does on the other hand stop me, from touching those overpriced low quality ship kits..
Savvy?

-EDIT "Proof that you just can't buy happiness maybe."
Just a little comment on your above sentence. When i buy a skin or something else is not to buy happiness or to find goodness in this game. I know what the game offers and i enjoy exactly that.
1st priority is to support the company and the 2nd is to customize a ship in some way and buy stuff for it, because it has given me many many hours of glory like the Anaconda that i have spend tremendous amount of time in her and she got me to so many places including the other side of the galaxy. Those are values that i don't think you will ever understand IMO.

I don't have an objection with what the OP was saying - thinking something is bad and hoping people will stop supporting it, and sloppy production, by encouraging them not to buy it, is an entirely legititmate thing to do in my book, just as much as the opposite of saying something is great. The way it was worded was inevitably going to wind people up though. Even if it's accurate pointing out that people are part of the problem never goes down well and neither does dergotory language (does the OP really think that "white knight" in this situation isn't a pejorative term?)

Happier than you certainly, can't speak for everyone else.

I think buying the game is sufficiently supportive.

But then I knew pre-purchase that cosmetics were always the planned alternative to a subscription so as a non-cosmetics/subscription player its an absolute win win for me. Thanks for paying for my content (y).

The above will trigger a conversation that goes even more personal. I suggest you drop it, no reason to get this thread closed.

You can behave the way you want, no one said that you should buy cosmetics. I only answered to a comment YOU started about buying happiness and paying extras.
You 're welcome.. i will continue to pay for your content whenever i can, just let me critisize when i think i should.

If you are uncomfortable with the direction you decided to take the thread in that really is your problem.

I do let you criticize, I may disagree and say so but I make no attempt to prevent you from being able to do that.

My friend, or if you are thinking I'm not your friend, pal: shame on you for coming here to shame on the developers of the game you play over cosmetics. I got news for you: you. don't. need. to. buy. them. Specially. if. you. think. they. are. not. up. your. own. standards.

Spare me the useless news and please, correctly use the punctuation.

I have to be ashamed because I criticize the developers work that I paid them for? I think you have it backwards.

That's precisely my point, you paid them for but no one forced you to buy said cosmetics (or the game, although I'm glad you are here with us, the players, now). I'm sure if you are not happy with what you paid for the store will issue you a refund. In my opinion I just think it's rude for anyone to come here and put all the work in question just because YOU didn't liked the result of a specific -non vital to the game- cosmetic content. You are entitled to complain but maybe you should do it in a less aggressive way. Either way, I've made the point I wanted to make, carry on. And happy Saturday by the way.

I guess the game can keep going and improve thanks to more supportive players than you then. Last I checked the steam sales are giving away elite at a ridiculously low price.

I bought other cosmetics mainly to support the game I like. And now I am reminding the devs that they should be ashamed of a sloppy job precisely for the same reason. I am trying to support the game I am a fan of by showing I am not happy with the MENTALITY behind these cosmetics and many other half baked additions.

Also the fact that the community is supporting this half baked mentality will mean that most probably I will get worse content in the future. So I take action.

I do not think I am aggressive, their job on the kits is objectively subpar, especially compared to other areas of the game. So I believe they should feel ashamed since they are charging a lot for it.

You basically ringfenced anyone who would dare to offer an different opinion as a white knight and suggested they didn't dare oppose you.

This is not the foundation for a constructive debate.

No, I basically said that white knights are one reason we have sloppy ship kits. You got jumpy.

White knights is not a bad word, it is a category of likely minded people in these forums to me.

It is not a minor issue since it has been going in many areas of the game. Tagging this mentality as a minor issue only harms the game.

Its just a texture in a computer game, its not life threatening. Save you ire for something serious.

At the end of the day, FD are probably well aware of the quality of the produced work. Either they care, and if so, offer them constructive feedback, or they don't care, so your rant is wasted.

I mean, personally, if i do something, and someone comes in with an attitude like yours regarding my work, i'd be telling them which body part they can insert into which orifice.

Think about it.

What are white knights? People who defend someone or something and never offer any criticism. That a good definition? Well, i'm sorry to dissapoint you on this, because i'm not aware of a single person who matches that description on this forum. Maybe they exist, but they are so few in number they don't register.

So its bit hard to go blaming an insignificant minority on the quality of work produced by the devs.

And really, please, take another look at what you wrote, because you are effectively saying anyone who disagrees with you is wrong to do so. You label anyone who would defend it as being on the wrong side.

As I explained previously if you cared to read, a company keeps doing what pays until the customers either stop paying or complain about the services they are paying.

Mine is constructive feedback, I told them they should improve the way they connect the geometry of the kits to the main ship mesh. But if you keep ignoring these issues, it will always be sloppy. And kits are one example. ED is full of half baked stuff.
