Atmospheric landing but not on earth-like world yet.
Space legs, walking in your ship with unique gameplay opportunities and walking on planets. No walking in stations yet.
Things like flora, earth-like world, stations interiors, cities, NPC's etc will come later.
I believe this will be an impressive update that will serve as a huge foundation for the future.
Oh and that will make cry the other space game even more then now.

Hopefully this will lead to some sweet "crash landed on alien planet, survive the hostile maneating predators"-type missions...

That could equally apply to animal life though right?
Whatever is release, whether it be this year or next, there are some certainties:
Some will declare the new content the second coming of Christ and the best thing since sliced bread
Most will appreciate the work FD has done, and accept what they get
Some will detest the changes and complain bitterly about them to anyone who will listen
Some will take it one step further, and declare the changes and enhancements pathetic, the game is doomed etc. without even trying the new features.
Oh and Star Citizen will still be in Alpha

FDev don't have any experience in creating FPS's.
They fired everybody on the Outsider team, thus they would probably need to hire people now, to have any chance of making a decent job of it in a realistic timeframe.
You seem to be very well informed as to Frontier personnel and their employment.

Aww... new look, but same old forums... no sense of humor around here. Can’t even poke fun at my own country for some of our ridiculous activities - so what’s coming in 2020, other than that thing I can’t tell you again, and if you were fortunate enough to see when it was here I hope you enjoyed as much as I did - well, afraid I have no idea. I’d guess a lot of speculation with a double side of disappointment, a talk glass of fresh salted tears, new bugs, and at least 4 more Cobra 3 skins.
