PC DualShock4

Greetings,

So I've played ED on the PS4 since it was released...and have LLLOOOVVEEDD it. So much so that I just started over on the PC. I am using a HOTAS now but I did attempt to use a DualShock4 (DS4) controller, what made it very difficult is the apparent inability for the PC to recognize the many buttons the DS4's trackpad has. PlayStation ED the touchpad serves as 4 buttons as follows:
  1. UpperLeft - Cycle Previous Fire Group
  2. UpperRight - Cycle Next Fire Group
  3. LowerLeft - Target Panel
  4. LowerRight - Systems Panel
Then of course there's center press...but in addition to this, as is seen in the PS4 version of Warframe, swipes can also be mapped..
  1. SwipeLeft - Excaliber's slash n dash
  2. SwipeRight - Excal Radial Blind
  3. SwipeUp - Excal Radial Javelin
  4. SwipeDown - Excal Exalted Blade
Thats a total of 9 inputs for the touchpad...and that's a lot...and it's awesome.

But on the PC I haven't been able to find a way for the touch pad to be anything more that a single gigantic button...why is that? Or even better and hopefully...what the heck am i doing wrong?

Thx,

David

If you use Steam you can use Steam's controller configuration to set up the trackpad (and every other button) to work just about any way your heart desires. If you don't use Steam then you'll have to look into ds4windows or something like that.

Yeah, I was able to get it setup perfectly with steam and nothing else...it's a minor gripe but a gripe still, I know ED supports dualshock buttons, image wise, and when i look in presets it shows a dualshock4, but the button mappings still say joy_2 instead of showing an image of the X button. Anyway, touchpad workes identically in steam as it does on the PS4.
