SteamVR-undistort by sensercoltu is the tool you need if you want to try and eliminate the barrel distortion

Dont bother with other peoples profiles they wont be as good as your factory one.

Backup your config before using the tool.

Be patient and learn the tool, dont expect to get it perfect with 10 minutes fiddling. It takes hours to learn and build a decent profile.

Increasing scale requires modifying focal length but you will find that will leave you struggling to get the polynomial distortion coefficients correct.

Eye fatigue is generally caused by incorrect IPD setting.

Love mine :). I also have the Pimax, and the clarity with these lenses is maybe slightly better than the Pimax due to absolutely ZERO god rays and huge sweet spot.. The blacks are really very good, I sometimes get caught just looking around space when in ED !!!, especially with the 4k Textures !! I am able to notice things that I could not see in either my Oculus ( low res ) or the Pimax ( low contrast ).

I still have a spec or 2 of dust in mine and it is a challenge getting it all out admittedly, but there is no way I could go back to the standard Fresnels !. If only the Vive Pro had a slightly bigger FOV and better headphones ( even ear buds ) it would be as close to a perfect HMD as we can currently get..

Which pimax do you have?

I also was wondering if you tried out the new pitool as it seems to fix some of the problems you seem to have mentioned, most notably giving user a brightness control slider or such.

Thank you for the advice Mr Grooves.

5K+, yes tried new PioTool, makes a difference, but not any where near enough to make it my main headset... Be wary of the brightness and contrast sliders they seem to be adjusting the gamma, so if you increase or decrease it looks quite 'processed' and not right.. I found anymore than 1 step in either direction was too much etc..

Yeah it crushes the dynamic range
