Am I reading this right?

So - is it really that bad?

It's enough to noticeably skew the TTKs of smaller ships, and even noticeably shift practical resistances of larger ones. Whether this is good or bad depends on one's perspective.

It will likely reduce variety among dedicated combat vessels, because there are only two things you'd ever want to use that C1 for...the same thermal resistant HRP, or an interdictor.

Not deep plating?

With the new slots, almost every config will work best with lightweight or heavy duty (depending on mass budget) deep-plated reactive bulkheads, as many heavy duty deep-plated HRPs as there are room for, and a single D1 thermal resist reflective-plating HRP (where not losing resistances is worth a lot more than the 19 points of hull you get from deep plating it instead).

In other words, only small and big ships get the slots. Medium ships (Cobra), get nothing!
Mwuahahahah!
But then it's followed by mediums and larges also getting a new slot.

Dis' gonna' be good! My trade Cobra is happy.

Exactly the kind of feature one would expect from a ship. excited for the future
Has anyone thought that if we are to be able to walk around our ship, we will need some kind of automation like this? ;)

For most small craft commanders this new update translates into three new slots - two added from the update and on cleared out because of the new on-board AD.

Freaky good.
More room for collector limpets; so that the pilots who can't even land or take off. Won't even have to use their scoops, to pick up cargo.

Lets all demand and vote for long distance fuel scooping limpets and make this game; great again. Meh!

Good thing that ships in ED are made of some rubber compound and are always bigger on the inside, as already noted some other place in the forum.
