plotting course in Oculus Rift

ive started this topic about 3 or 4 times now and i dearly hope i wont have many times more, as it is getting tiring and im flooding the forum.

i am playing solely on Oculus rift and do not plan on purchasing anything hotas related and do not have access to my keyboard during gameplay.

when entering the galaxy map, whenever i switch between tabs (select destination -> plot course), the menu immediately jumps to cartographers menu instead clicking between tabs to chose destination, plot course etc. as a matter of fact, the navigation on the cartographers menu is borked aswell. you cant scroll the text wall down without moving the whole map down and you cant switch between some of the tabs either.

so, ive been trying to remap different interface / galaxy map related buttons, to negative results. is there a trick to this stupidity or am i simply doomed? without this simple function the game is just not playable and i am far from being able to request refund. nor do i really want to.

Also VR rift only. PS4 controller. No issues with tabbed brwosing in any panel. I use the default bindings for menu selections in UI's. R1 and L1 is default tab selection. However in Galaxy Map > Stars; If one of the 3 modes "Realistic" "Stars" and "Powerplay" isn't highlighted the UI appears locked, one of those must be active in order to escape Galaxy map.

ED is optimised for PC and a mouse hence the clunkyness of all UI's when playing without a mouse. I've grown used to the clunkness of the UI's but I am considering using a mouse in VR for quick point and click convience, this will entail placing the mouse in a reliable easily found place as in a "blind person's mouse". I'm going to wait for the next update before doing this as the UI's might be more VR user friendly in the next update.

Mice do not work well in VR and the mouse cursor doesn't line up correctly with points on the Galmap in VR (or the UI in general). You'd likely be wasting your time and would be better off sticking with what you have.

+1 on the mouse comment from CylonSurfer, you can use the mouse for the menu stuff on the left but actually navigating the gal/sys maps does not work.

I dont know why but back in 2015 and possibly 2016 the mouse DID work in the maps, i clearly remember being annoyed at having to actually learn how to set up and use HOTAS bindings for navigation after having played on my DK2 and navigated using the mouse for a long time, there was a change somewhere along the road that broke it.
