Aegis and Ram Tah - will the Guardian weapons be availaible w/o grind soon?

Just read the Galnet News: if the Tech Broker "will still hold the licence for Guardian SLFs" and the Aegis will invest its power and ressources - it seems as the guardian weapons and modules will become available like the "normal" AX-weapons now. Hmm. I've just finished the grind for Shard Cannon and wanted to go for the FSD Booster - should I wait? :)))

But the Interstellar Initiative introduces another Corporation interested in collecting/making Thargoid materials available 🤷‍♂️

Do it now - you will find it extremely useful on any ship you might own now or in the future.

I've now unlocked the FSD booster and the class 3 shard cannon as turret - completed my armed and armoured explorer (Anaconda) and still have 50 LY jump range (y)

In any case, you will need to visit Guardian sites, since various materials are required to replenish the cartridges during the battle (through synthesis).

Wasn't the point of Tech Brokers/Unlocking stuff meant to all be part of FD's "personal narrative" stuff? I doubt they'll just remove the need for guardian tech brokers on a whim like that.

For you guys who have unlocked the guardian stuff... I've got a DB-X with a 60 jump range, point defenses set up, a surface vehicle, and engineering raw materials for refuel. Can I just head out to the first Guardian site? Do I need to unlock some beacon or something first?

How did the first people to find the Guardian stuff even find out about it? The videos seem to jump straight into each item you want to get... is there any step needed before flying all the way out there?

Simply read the the part "Locations" here Guardian Structure

I' ve used Synuefe NL-N C23-4, body B3 for "module blueprint" and Synuefe EU-Q C21-10, body A3 for the "weapon blueprint". The first one is more difficult in regards of approaching the data terminal and has more sentinels, but you also get much more "guardian technology component", just shoot the destructable blue lightting panels. The second one is easier, so I've made my training there and got the materials for the weapons there first.

What do you need:
  1. Point defence: yes, I had one on my Anaconda and it was enough. It was even placed underside, not as adviced on top of the ship. But it really shoot down lots of missiles. I've parked my ship parallel to the longer side of the structure. The PD was at the "driver's door" position, if you compare that with a car. Worked perfekt.
  2. SRV:
    1. Take two SRVs with you - you are learning and don't want to go back to bubble, because your one and only SRV ist destroyed.
    2. Stand on even ground, not somehow sidewards on a hill.
    3. Turn you handbrake on!
    4. Facetank the sentinel - you don't really need even to "break the line of sight", if you fight against one guardian at a time. But you MUST stand face to face with the sentinel, to not to be rolled over / thrown on your back. Even slighttly diagonal gives higher cance to be thrown over.
    5. Put 2,5 pips in both shields and weapons. Even is your weapon capacitor runs low you'll be able to shoot futher, slow but although shooting. And the shields will not fall, even if all missiles will hit you, instead of being taken down by PD.
    6. Use the turret mode - probably you will want to reduce the "mouse sensibility" in the game options to aim quiter. The normal driving mode isn't aiming even nearly so good. Also the scanning the data terminal core at the end and shooting the high positioned panels is very comfortable in this mode.
  3. Take materials like sulphur, phosphorus and nickel to refuel, rearm, repair your SRV.
  4. The mini game with sentinels pylons etc. starts if you were near the data terminal, then some pylons rise there, and sometimes also the first sentines appear. If you stay away from the terminal, in order to shoot the panels calmly, you will mostly not be attacked by the sentinels (my experience).
  5. Board your ship, fly a little bit away, land, relog in to the game.Come back to the site/structure and do the same activities again. Yes, It's a grind, but not much more effort than gathering matherials for normal engineering. Especially, if you want to G5 all your modules.

Do I need to unlock some beacon or something first?
No, But if you've never been in the system before, you have to learn, how to work with thw new modes of the discovery scanner, in order to get the names of stellar bodies assigned and to be able than to select your target. Good news: you can do it also quite in "old style": change to analysis mode (options), honk the system, fly to a body and wait until the scan is finished. If you don't do much exploring and need only those two systems, it could be quicker rather than learning the new tools. Otherwise - invest an hour into the Full Spectrum System Scanner - saves lots of time later.

All good info apart from this. No need to enter ship at all. Simply relog in the srv. You will be warned, ignore the warning. Srv will respawn outside the site, but just drive back in and carry on, it's usually only a couple of hundred metres.

Yes, I didn't want to find out, what the warning really means, although one time I just lost connection and my SRV was respawned directly near my Anaconda. Strange thing was - if I wanted to log out sitting in the Anaconda, I got the "dangerous location" warning. Dangerous for Anaconda but not for SRV? :)
