I would like it if there wasn't a great divide between cannon fodder and can easily get away (from one attacker), but there is, and doubt being deprived boost will be a significant change in escaping. Will take more damage, and might have to eat a reboot, but it's not like my 'gank proof' ships are ever escaping with shields down or hull dangerously low.

Fast ships I have that couldn't eat a bunch of damage might get owned if they can't gain initial distance I guess.

Will be fun to find out.



LOL, that was pretty much your only chance of escaping.
 
Oh, here's a PvP group organising their game play to find the level of challenge they like to have in their game.
 
We will not be shooting other PvPers with them (just like with SpicyBois) and will be solely shooting players minding their own business, imploring them to take to the forums to voice their opinions on the new changes.
During SpicyBois, no one took to the forums to voice their opinions on the new changes after you shot at them. As Einstein stated, doing the same thing twice and expecting different results is a sure sign of sanity.

And I'm sure, like Spicybois, you'll claim a great success afterwards.

This thread will do more for your cause than any shot fired in game. But ... any excuse, right fellers? :)

How are you enjoying the Open Only BGS 90s?

I remember you telling me that anyone who understood anything about this game could see that within 6 to 8 months, we were going to need big boi pants to prepare for Open Only Everything.

That was in 2017.

Massive shields and/or hull + high wake is what grants me escape, not being able to boost certainly will reduce the ability to avoid some damage, as I said before.

Something like a T-9 that boosts slower than a ganker is moving w/o boosting, it will still matter, but doubt it will be *significantly more difficult," which is what I was replying to.

Boosting is what enables you to turn and avoid things like Grom bombs and reverb torps.

But hey, good luck out there!
 
Ugh. Just dueled BigMaec's Krait in my FDL. Both of us using Drags (him frags and me missiles). It wasn't very fun at all.

Even more reasons now to run missiles and shield tanks. :(
You should create a thread specifically for the scenarios you test so it's in plain view and not shadowed by other content in this thread.

This is constructive feedback. In a controlled environment. Science the hell out of this (y)

I very much doubt Einstein actually said that. It also has very little bearing on the concepts of sane and insane.

In any case, it is a valid and relatively benign form of protest.
 
Seems like an interesting change. And I have as much empathy for the people crying about the change as they have for the people they blow up.

In the end, only people invested in PVP will be affected, over-engineered ships will continue to blow up little to not-engineered PVE ships.

Fun to see PVPers on the receiving end and salty side at least.

It's not only the PvPers on the receiving end. They will cope, as always. But it makes escape from ganks more difficult and I wonder if the drag effect will be in CZs or assassination missions. I guess yes, and you'll see it's no fun then.

And it will affect everyone who uses boost to evade fire during escape as well, especially those not heavily involved with PvP. It even makes menu logging more difficult because you have more weapons hitting you often with the smaller range difference.

You didn't read what we said, this makes ganking easier, makes us able to kill targets that would normally get away
