How are you enjoying the Open Only BGS 90s?

I remember you telling me that anyone who understood anything about this game could see that within 6 to 8 months, we were going to need big boi pants to prepare for Open Only Everything.

That was in 2017.

Yeah, past conversations can be a female dog :)

90 days, tops.

Wait, ganker targets get away frequently or something? That's not what the SDC propoganda machine would have you believe.
Of course they do that lines up perfectly with what we say which is: escaping ganks and not dying in this game is one of the easiest things in the entire game, takes minimal due diligence, soke evidence to that fact

Isn't that why the congregation is there? I must confess I have little experience in such matters, whenever I cross the threshold of a place of worship my skin bursts into flames.

I think he meant preach to the choir, Lol

As for your skin bursting into flames, that comes later. (not Lol)

i experienced the following
1. hitted with frags - ship reduced speed from 412 to 350 - permanently while got hit
2. after the first hit no boost for 5 seconds so you are a sitting duck for 5 seconds in wing fight then you can boost 1 time the cooldown is then about 10 seconds BUT when you get the next hit the game starts from start.

this is completely BROKEN

Seems like an interesting change. And I have as much empathy for the people crying about the change as they have for the people they blow up.

In the end, only people invested in PVP will be affected, over-engineered ships will continue to blow up little to not-engineered PVE ships.

Fun to see PVPers on the receiving end and salty side at least.

Cut your nose off to spite your face. Good stuff.

You didn't read what we said, this makes ganking easier, makes us able to kill targets that would normally get away

You mean the ganking that was already super easy thanks to Wings and Engineering? It's not going to change a damn thing.
The people who were getting blown up had ships not engineered at all or in a way to sustain PVP.
Stop deluding yourself, the change only affect PVPers and therefore the kneejerk reaction you lots have.

I know it's a big ask for you but y'all should consider making a statement you won't oppose Space Force, or any other criminal activity, until this gets changed.

Heck. Join in.

Organized events will ban this change. It'll really only affect PvP "in the wild" for the worst.

Ganking isn't easy if you build your ship to certain standards. I went to DG2 for fun in a 55 LY Phantom and wasn't ganked by anyone there at EA.
And guess what, my build relied on a decent amount of shields and boosting away fast. Guess that just went down the drain.

My thoughts exactly. I typically have gankers surround my vette like flies during the FSD spinup phase. Shields up or down. 10 or 12 seconds to jump. Doesnt matter with all that armor and 3 MRP. I'm waving bye bye with or without boost.

I'll give you a tip to avoid ganking in non-engineered ship, as I couldn't be bothered to level 5 all my ships and modules.

See a combat ship in your 6 (or familiar CMDR name) in the system you are in, drop immediately out of supercruise, boost away. High Jump or Low Jump and proceed again after a bit. Done.

Thanks for this remarkable tip. I'll take note when I next see a ganker behind me.

I don't engineer anything and I just walked from a Drag Queen Mamba a few minutes ago, in my FAS.
Even shot his face full of Shock Cannon rounds before engaging, just for giggles.

Let 'em have their goofy toys.

It'll be like watching 2 boxers pull each others shorts down at the start of a fight. Lol.
Can't wait for the videos.

I guess we'll see in practice - but I'm fairly sure I can high wake away from anyone 1 v 1 without taking any significant damage without touching boost before this - so doubt it'll make much differance. It's an effect I usually carry on some of my weapons as well so will be interested see how it works from that side as well.
Having a good connection, a good pc and most importantly well set up controls that are second nature give the best advantage in any interaction - I can already be half way through spooling up my drive to wake out when the other guy drops into the instance (usually right in front of me as well, which can be terribly tempting at times).
I find this holds true for other online competative games as well - notably World of Tanks
