Bugs Galore

Yeah, I'm seeing a massive frame rate hit too (RTX 2080). The new menu looks good though.

That's how it looks (well, sort of) in VR. Looking at it on flat screen feels a bit mehh... I liked the old one better and it made VR kind of stand out.

Yeah I had to kill the game process to close it.
I'm still getting planets showing up as mapped when they haven't.
Also when I have mapped a planet, the planet info on the system panel (where you select the target) says it isn't mapped.

no framerate drop here ( VR ).. new menu looks great. Looks alot clearer in VR for some reason - not sure if they changed anything and it loads even faster ~2 seconds ^_^

As to the frame rate issues, I just altered the cursor settings in the 'Options' section to in-game panel-based cursor and that brought my frame rates back.

I can appreciate them not noticing lots of bugs as its a complex game however not noticing a massive framerate hit in the station seems pretty unbelievable! I'm sure someone must have tested a ship launch with the new autopilot.

Update after leaving it 90 mins, can now get into game and exit successfully., so look like that issue was heavy server load that follows a patch. My FPS seems ok, run a 2080Ti locked to 120 FPS and sitting around 120 in open space dropping to 75-80 in a station which is in line to pre-patch figures. Just the 10cr restock currently outstanding and confirmed that bug on the tracker.

Saw a slight drop in fps around stations - but it does look a little sharper than previously - think they sorted shading out and improved textures somewhat ?
See-ing fps drop in Jameson memorial in Shinrarta to around 79 - 80 from previous 110 - 130 range (2070 RTX @ 2560x1440 everything maxed) - still totally smooth though (this was in solo, so just npc ships).

The constant whining gets to me. We are getting FREE updates (at regular intervals) to a great space simulator and there are always people straight on the forum to complain. Raise a ticket and enjoy the game. Concentrate on what we HAVE got: The developers never let these things drag on - thanks FRONTIER for an epic and ongoing experience.

You're absolutely right.

I shall get on with the mining that I've been wanting to do.

Oh, wait...

The problem is, with each improvement at least one if not a couple of other things get broken. And many bugs are so glaringly obvious I have honestly no idea how they get past QA.

As for the frame rate drop, pre-server downtime it went from a capped 60 to sub 30 at Shin Dhez. Post downtime it's hovering between 35-50, which is horribly jerky. BUT - switching to solo, and voila, 60fps. So it seems to be network related, which sort of makes sense as I normally enjoy a locked 60 everywhere apart from planetary POIs, and that's due to my hardware/graphics settings.

I do wonder whether the mysterious permanent frame drops that occur after playing in an AX CZ for a while (and which can only be fixed by completely restarting the game) got addressed as part of the patch. With the above new issue in mind, I suppose that's doubtful. Will give it a go tomorrow.

Do like the menus and small QoL improvements though, especially around the navigation menu.
