This has been listed on Fdevs bug report page for Xbox1.
Cant find a PC report though.
Login has been an issue for a few weeks now, The new Launcher and now this new content patch.
The steam rating for ED has dropped recently because of the Launcher issues experianced last week, making new players to Elite, angry.
The irony is that these updates are designed to improve the experiance for new players.. rolls eyes

Im logging in using steam. At first the main page shows my character and ship, credits etc but when i start a session i get the above error and get taken back to the OLD main page minus the character details.
So my data is there on first login... just that is vanishes when i start a game session.
Same here, loading error... failed to load Commander data....
And additional; my secondary firebutton on the second joystick doesn't work.. however it's assigned under 'controls' and in the assignments panel... never had issues with double joystick keybinds before.

Looks like even top end hardware is having problems. I'm having to run on low settings (GTX970) but must admit, the stations look better without all the haze! Very doom.
Under launcher options did you try "log out machine" and then get the new verification code email? I did it twice and it started working. But I never saw my ship wallpaper until I did that. So that's a bit different.
What's up with buying modules?
It seems like there's no way of storing certain modules when you try to buy an alternative.
I try to replace the FSD in my Phantom with a new one and it works as it should.
I try to replace the PP and I get no option to store the current one.
Or, am I just having a senior moment/brainfart?

This game will ALWAYS have the old bugs, and I suspect at least some of the new bugs will soon join those old bugs in the halls of immortality.With a little luck, in a week's time it'll all be back to it's shoddy self without any new or old bugs.
This game will not always have Old Duck, however. Like you, I'm waving at the sinking ship from the safety of the docks.

Nope.
Those two pic's were taken immediately one after the other (I have 81 modules in storage).
I can swap out an FSD and I get the chance to put my current FSD in storage.
If I go to swap out a PP, I only get the choice of replacing my existing one.
Yeh im just gonna leave it. Not in the mood for piddling about with 'if and buts'.
EuroTrack simulator 2 will get some love tonight, time to drunk drive the Baltic Sea. (which is normal im told)
Regarding the performance hit, try setting volumetrics to low if you were using anything less than ultra before.
I was just reviewing the GraphicsConfiguration.xml to see if there were any changes that would impact my shadow profiles and noticed that they enabled two-pass blur on the medium and high quality volumetrics profiles, which might be responsible for a performance hit on some systems.

Only got into the game once either had the commander not found issue or the game locked up my PC totally when opening the game from the launcher, the one time I did get to play my frame rate dropped from 144fps to 54fps in stations and really tanked to 34-40FPS at the RES sites
