Space Force Presents: Operation Drag Queen

Well I've had one test flight with my Chief and a set of pack hounds.
In this very limited test (further testing required obv) I didn't notice any huge difference.
Maybe the wanted Cmdr in the mega shielded Krait noticed.. IDK.
The only thing I noticed is that I am very VERY rusty at PVP.

Very good suggestion. Just block the griefers. That's what I do, works a treat :)

I'm curious what criteria you use to distinguish griefers from other players. Do you block anyone who attacks you in Open? Pre-block players who have a certain level of infamy? The concept of griefers in other games is usually limited to people who harass others repeatedly to the point where they can't play the game.

p.s. Is it normal on these forums for mods to take sides in threads like these?

This is against the TOS of the forums. Perhaps it will be moderated.

I doubt you're having as much fun as we were though.

No drama here. I rationally explained the ramifications of the engineering buff, I wasn't engaging in speculation regarding emotional enjoyment of it.

All of this is a storm in a coffee cup. Does the mod need balancing? Knowing FDEV, yes for sure.
Is it the most broken thing in the game? AHAH, don't make me laugh, no.
Does it deserve the attention it got? Of course not.

You lack imagination and humour if you think I don't find the whole thing can be fun :)))
And I didn't break any rules, I play by them. Like you do in-game.
I don't attack or disrespect posters, not call them name, try to label them or assume their intention or psychological ordeal (like you did in your post just before). So if someone broke a rule, well, you probably get it.

I'm just better equipped for this exercise on text than my playtime allow me to do engineering my ship in-game.

On those words, I wish you all a goodnight and thnks for the endless laugh tonights guys, you made my evening :)))

It's normal for regular contributors to be offered moderator roles yes.

The point of the block list is that the individual can choose to block for any reason they want, without having to justify it. Ditto private groups, which are exclusive & can refuse entry (or eject) for any reason or no reason, just as any player can choose to attack any other player for any reason or no reason.

Play your own way, let them play theirs. Some lessons are harder learned than others, it is up to the individual whether to use the advice or not.

I'm using my own judgement. I consider myself a rather level headed fellow and I don't block just anyone left and right. Only the people I would rather not play with, when they bring nothing good to my gaming experience.

I accept the dangers of Open, but I don't agree with mindless ganking or griefing.

Holding developers hostage by griefing other players to instigate a change is totally unacceptable to me. Even though I agree with the OP in terms of the introduced change to Drag being well OP, I am strongly against the actions being made to point developers attention to it, especially when they've already acknowledged they got the feedback and are looking at it.

Edited because I done goofed.

Not really.

We'll do this in reverse... around here... you'll have to ask me away from here. But I've seen Roots around for a pretty long while, and he seems pretty level headed in my experience.

As for what constitutes a Griefer... Supreme Court Justice Potter Steward said: "I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description ["hard-core pornography"], and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it [...]", and that is perhaps the most fitting explanation. There is no singular hard and fast definition here, but when it is witnessed, or more aptly, when it is experienced, it is known and recognized.

Fair enough.

As for your points, I'd counter just a bit by pointing out that hyperbole like "holding developers hostage" isn't exactly congruent with "rather level headed". Space Force are only going to be using valid in-game tools (like other valid tools such as the block feature) to role play pilots dissatisfied with the Pilots Federation lawmakers. Having such a clearly stated goal is the exact opposite of "mindless".

One person's grief is another person's attempt to feed their family ("my children will go hungry tonight"). Do you consider NPC attackers griefers? If not, why? Because humans can be much, much better at the pew pew? If that's the case, then I guess griefing is just content that isn't as fun because it's harder?

Ever see the 2009 movie "Rampage"? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1337057/

Pretty well fits the "mindless" description, despite all the forethought and planning that went into the setup here.

After the year long content delay announcement the game is uninstalled but I just couldn't resist following on the rumor of FDev pulling yet again.

A totally stupid move.

I look forward to the gank compilation.

Yeah you stick it to The Man by watching youtube videos, that'll show 'em ;)
