Yes. Sadly, they forgot to include it in the list of map icons you can turn off and on, so you are (a) stuck with it, and (b) not offered any hint of what it means by way of the icon-control UI. :-(

They also forgot a toggle for keybinding reminder at the bottom and I think the icon for the starter systems can't be toggled as well.

So there is now an icon for the station where I compare the market prices and an icon (that orange cargo canister) from where I compare it.

Guess I need to take a look at the CMDRs handbook as I have no clue why I would want to have an icon indicating the system where I compare prices - is there any situation where the station where I compare prices is not the station I'm currently docked?

The handbook is useless, it doesn't cover the icons at all. It just basically says "hur durr stuff to sell and buy.. buy low sell high hurr durrnurr" .. it's really bad.

I'd like an option to "hide tutorial hints" or something like that. For someone who isn't new to the game, the pilot's manual is too prominent in a lot of places. Basically wasting space and cluttering the UI.

I'm also not sure yet about those activity icons. Do I need a reminder for every single asteroid belt that I can go mining there? Or map a planet? Or fight in a CZ?

The icon indicates the system you are comparing to - for me that is always some other station, where I am planning to take goods to from my current station.
That said, I don't really feel any need to have an icon on the map to mark it.

Turned out that they changed the icon from an orange canister to that yellow wedding rings icon and I got completely confused and thought that the yellow icon is an additional icon and not a substitute.

I‘m currently in negotiations with the Pilots Federation as they threatened to revoke my Elite trading status. 🙄

you can turn this off by going to the commodities panel at station and clearing it. its comparing markets, I had it on earlier and forgot about it until I noticed it on galmap. I selected filters and cleared all filters and removed it.

That market thingamajing is really good. If the UI is a bit more streamlined, it's a real winner for traders imho.
