No Flight Assist for CMDRs in deep space?

mmm...what if I don't want the new modules? If they're added automatically I would need to go back to a station to remove them. I don't want any of those assist computers in my ship, never ever. Just for my pride....

I'm out in the black myself and can't confirm, but I assume those Modules carry some weight when equipped?
I reckon a few Explorers might not have appreciated a sudden reduction in jumprange. Or house a 1 ton Adv. Docking Computer they'd have never fitted in their Exploration builds.

My honk button was disconnected too....
Glad to hear it wasn't just me this happened to. I'm out exploring and mashed the Mouse #1 button about two dozen times during fuel scooping wondering what the hell was wrong. Went into fire groups, noticed that it was no longer assigned, re-assigned it to Mouse #1. Did notice that the shields keep coming on (if they're "off") at the change of every instance. Not happy with it but not going to rage quit over it.

Very nice point, i would not want to lose precious jump range out in the black, just for a module i'm not actually in need of, especially in deep space since there's nowhere to dock & undock or not much need for delicate throttle control.

I checked on Coriolis.io, these modeles have 0 weight (like AFMU's).

One time, I was flying, and then all of a sudden my ship had this new planetary landing module appear and I could suddenly land on planets.

This other time, like magic, my detailed surface scanner would take me to a whole new blue view with all these probes I could shoot and the ammo didn’t weigh a thing! They just magicked right into my ship somewhere. I must have had like infinity amount of the things too!!!

At the end of the day, the new flight assist feature would have been a nice thing for explorers making vids and looking at the codex or gal map while heading over to that system anomaly 100k away.

But, oh well. I’m heading back to get one. That’s okay though because I have a fighter bay and totally forgot my SLF and crew mate. So bummed when I wanted to do some canyon runs on beautiful ice ball.

I know you guys are hard-core purest Explorers spending months in the far reaches of the Galaxy. Wouldn't that ruin your immersion to all of a sudden magically have modules in your ship when you never landed at a station? I for one would not want to wake up thirty thousand light-years away from the bubble and have modules in my ship that I didn't have the night before. That is unless they were put there by aliens. Now if the alien story could be floated then perhaps the real explorers might feel they've actually discovered something. If the NACA NACA tribe of the forbidden zone made a surprise visit to their ship while they were sleeping and embedded those modules in their ships that would be quite a story. Of course only the commanders who have not done bad things to the forbidden zone would qualify. The NACA NACA tribe would keep a list of who's been naughty and who's been nice and they would have to come down the cargo hatch.

I just assume the fuel rats showed up and installed it while I was asleep in my cabin. 😛

All I know is that there is a weird loading screen with my ship docked when I haven't been to a port in several months

Yeah, when I booted up the game, that scared the bejesus out of me because I thought they pulled me from Beagle Point and I was like, NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

My

My honk button was disconnected too, it took 2 mins looking in the options menu to find it located in the FSS (where it probably should have been all along) I assigned it, shrugged and went about my business.

Life really doesn't need to be a drama.
You must be new here... ;)

Is this just for the FSS view? Seems I use the same button to tune left when in that view. You can still honk outside of the FSS view when jumping into a system and rounding a star fuel scooping though, correct? ← Legit question, not a rhetorical commentary on the control setup.

...

Bit of a sinking feeling regarding this as none have bothered to respond, showing me the error of my ways yet... Sorry, haven't really had the time to get back in the game since this post was first posted and would rather not redo a number of my bindings if it isn't otherwise needed.
