Fixed that for you.
They should make it beige.

I'm not meaning to imply that I'm not fond of your company here or anything, but maybe try quitting the forums and enjoying (as it were) the game instead of the other way around? That doesn't mean it isn't a primary cause of bitterness.

Maybe the game has gone the way of the MMO Eve kiddies or whatever too. I'm much more of a lone wolf type player so can't really comment one way or the other. The exploration section of the forums and related PGs tend to be a bit more cordial.
Cheers.
Sadly I'm not enjoying the game enough. Last time my interest was dwindling, the forum community kept me interested for longer than I might have stuck around, but this time I have better things to do. I guess a thread moaning about the moaning (and which sucked me into it too) was the last sign I needed. Maybe I will play now and again, but who would even know, because I play Solo anyway.I'm not meaning to imply that I'm not fond of your company here or anything, but maybe try quitting the forums and enjoying (as it were) the game instead of the other way around?

These forums have always been cautic and toxic.
Now, you're just being meta toxic.
Forumites are usually customers of the game. Customers want their interests heard. There seems to be a tradition among developers and game mgts to ignore the players who buy their stuff. Only in this industry (and banking, maybe) do we see this. These customers will not stop being angry at being ignored until the game staff stop ignoring them.
This article puts game development into a vacuum and acts as if not everything minutely connected with society through the Internet has that foul element commenting on its internet comment sections are dominated by abuse anywhere that you care to look. Additionally, it's intellectually dishonest to conflate the conversations that take place on this forum with the tweets in that article. Take the Drag special effect discussion, you really equate the conversation that took place and those filthy tweets? That's just nuts, and your own special brand of passive aggressive salt. Its a growing trend apparently :

The topic every game dev is talking about behind closed doors : The cost of doing business
Content warning : I’ve embedded some tweets to various developers that show the sorts of comments that they receive every day. There’s some…medium.com
He came out? As a miner I mean. And then you have a thread like Phisto’s the other day. He opened up, shared something risky, and the result was... overwhelming support and good wishes.
See? There’s positivity too.
Utter nonsense! This is the position of those unable to engage in acerbic repartee.Personal attacks on devs or anyone else at Fdev are unjustified and a big NO. Period.
When people start attacking individuals or use name calling etc. they lose all credibilty in my book.
Just one option there,......ignore.

In case anyone wondered what I meant by "passive aggressive" this is a pretty solid example. Its a fairly well rounded explanation of increasing community toxicity from a devs point of view. I'm inclined to agree with it, certainly some of the things mentioned in it like buying without research then throwing a tantrum are very common and becoming more so. Just look at the modes kerfuffle as an example of baffled uninformed purchasing.
We did the whole nasty things get removed here conversation last time I posted that article remember, there was a death threat example pointed out to you that the mods purged almost immediately IIRC.
I wouldn't know Jason I very rarely follow the weekly PVP balance wobbler so don't know what trivial issue is making them upset currently. I only know they whinge constantly which means I find them boring and so don't read those threads or visit that sub forum. Since PVP is an entirely optional thing I can just choose not to bother with it.
So any equivalence between the two can only exist inside your head.
That's true. The bugs acid reacts with the game base producing a salt on the forums. Chemistry works as intended.Vinegar doesn't neutralize salt, in fact, salts are (generally) the result of the neutralization of an acid and a base, for example, HCl + NaOH = NaCl + H2O.
