I'm going to use the word UPSET so I don't get kicked off the forum.

Many of you know I've only been playing for about a month now(Almost): I took a lot of time picking out what would be my Main ship- Type 7 Transport. I studied all the ships that was close to what I could afford after only 2 weeks in the game. It took everything I had to Purchase/Configure it the way I wanted it for Trading/Boom Mission/Mining, after the April upgrade/Patch FDev changed the way mining was done and added the Seismic charges to make it possible to make Cr's mining. Problem: The Seismic charges are Hardpoint size #2, all 4 hard points on the T7 are all #1's. Nullifying all the research I did in picking the T7. Is this an oversight on FDev's part? I mean the T7 is the smallest of the LARGE ships- LARGE SHIPS! why does it only have size 1 hard points? I am pretty sure they are NOT going to change the T7 but perhaps they can give a size 1 seismic charge?

Now for the part that has me wondering about this game altogether:
I again researched the next ship to purchase and decided on the Federal Assault Ship. Here I am using the sponsored site of FDev the EDDB to find a 5D Hanger, I have been going down that list for 2 days now and none of the locations have it! NONE!
I mean I understand researching to find the place that you can get the best deal- just like when you buy a new car but you after buying a new car, you don't have to take it to another city to get a radio put in and then go to another country(over and over again) just to get a moon roof installed-
I mean am I on a Freakin Easter Egg hunt here or what?!?

This is so RIDICULES.
For 2 days I have not been able to do anything else but search, search, search I mean come on enough already! Is this really part of the game or what?

Comparing this to eddb the info is pretty much the same. Both sites have always been pretty reliable.

How did you choose the 'Flying Coffin' as your first ship?

FAS doesn't support fighter hangars. Gunships do!

A list of your errors:
1) Aspiring to fly a T-7.
2) Mistaking EDDB as a sponsored site. Do you see the Frontier logo anywhere?
3) The major mining change was in the 3.0 update, not the April update.
4) Researching everything about the FAS except that it can't support a fighter hangar.
5) Your car analogy is flawed. A more apt one would be that you bought a Miata but are outraged that you can't fit a camper shell to it.

yes, interestingly I had the same feeling about the intergalactic scavenger hunt approach to spreading everything out over multiple systems with no real way to identify where in the galaxy those things might be...one of my biggest annoyances with the game early on and even now. I found a nice tool to help though -trade computer extension II, it provides an overlay in game which you can use to locate commodities and ships/outfitting. Quite handy for that purpose. you might give that a try and see if it helps with some of the more obscure guess work and hide and seek mentally excruciating exercise of finding those items.
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/trade-computer-extension-mk-ii.223056/page-316#post-7766357 check this forum thread here for the latest copy. He does a good job of keeping it updated.

I believe seismic charges and core mining was included much earlier than the recent April update.

Hit me up, I'll show you how to minimize the pain, maximize the gain.

IF FAS doesn't support a hanger then what is this:
129813

129814

And INARA shows it available at a different list of locations???

If you visit the Crew Lounge at any station that has one, it lists which ships support Fighters. It is a rather small list. You can't fit them into a size 5 slot on other ships. Just how they work.

There are probably other places that tell you the same info, like maybe the Ship selection screen when buying...never paid attention enough there to notice, but I bet the info is there too.

I don't understand, a 5D hanger exist- FAS has #5 slots ?
You've used EDDB to identify where FAS are sold and where SLF hangars are sold, but you wont fit the latter into the former ... only the FGS can support a fighter hangar (of the medium Federal ship series)

The ship descriptions in INARA are:

FAS Many of Core Dynamics' customers desired more specific roles for their Dropships and the Assault Ship is a response to some of those demands. The Assault Ship is designed for a more combat intensive role than the original ship. It has improved manoeuvrability and weapon carrying capacity and placement. These additions come at the expense of smaller internals making it less versatile, but better in its specialised role.

FGS The Federal Gunship developed from the need for a more advanced support vessel in operations, utilising the standard Dropship frame. Its primary role is in fire support but it also supports higher rated modules making it more versatile. It can also be equipped with a fighter hangar.

If you want to mine void Opal. The best idea is to get a Cobra MKIII. Farm Void Opal. Check the third party sites and you can find one that sells them for 1,600,000 each. You should have the money for a Python.
