Frontier, you need to hire this group and put them in charge of cockpit UI.

It won't work for Elite Dangerous.

Because in that video he has to take hands off throttle and joystick in order to push button in his Cockpit. And you can't do that when you are in a battle. So it's a no-no.
Okay, this is a very simple argument to refute, and I shall do so with a mere eight words: The cockpit in that teaser is fully customizable.

It doesn't matter that how the cockpit was set up in the teaser video, because you can set it up however you like. Oh yeah, and obviously the actual, physical buttons, knobs, lever, and what-have-you that you are currently using to play E: D will function perfectly fine.

What does your IRL E: D cockpit look like? Are you running double-stick, or full HOTAS, om KB+M? Tinker Pilot's main premise is allowing you to make the in-game cockpit match your IRL cockpit, as well as adding on in-game only stuff likes the buttons shown in the teaser.

I don't think game development works like that. Especially not with UI, which is a very difficult area to change drastically.

But I do really hope UI revamp is being worked on for the 2020 update. Some UI customization would be nice, although it will never be this advanced for Elite. Manage your expectations.

Did you not watch the video?

No, but I've seen it before. While it is quite cool, we have no need of it in E: D and already have cockpits. I use VR. I want to fly my ship, not mess about with my cockpit.

* The profanity filter on these forums really does block some odd words.

Than if you can't use it, what's the point of adding it?

Voice Attack is much superior to this.

Pushing buttons is so 1999.

Just to point out, it's a VR system they are developing for Unity (tinkercore), and this is them creating a space game application to show it (tinkerpilot). It may develop into an actual game, who knows, at the moment it's more an interesting idea used as a demo for their Unity app under development.
