Wasteland 2 discussion thread

Any fans of Wasteland 2 here?

I loved WL1, played all the Fallout games (one of the favourite series of all times for me) and now I have bought WL2.

I looked at the game once, created a party and had a few fights just to see how it looks and feels, but I did not beta test it at all, as I didn't want any spoilers for the final release.

I must say it looks and plays really good and I can't wait for the final release to start the adventure! Should last me until ED is fully released :)

The only thing I dislliked and that was the lack of many varied character portraits and the PC models in the character creation screen. They look UGLY, I mean like a decade old models! Once in the actual game they look OK, as you can't zoom in that much, but the first impression (as the char creation screen is what most of the players will actually see before going into the game) was really bad for me.

Nevertheless, it looks like a great game at first glance!

Not played Wasteland, in fact I was late to the Fallout party starting with 3 and then New Vegas. Both turned out to be incredible time sinks, and I still have not seen everything in them. Rumours abound of Fallout 4 somewhere on the horizon too...

Yeah, I'm waiting eagerly for F4 too!

F1 and 2 were the best for me, story-wise. I never finished New Vegas, currently awaiting for an SSD purchase so that I can mod it properly and replay.

Wasteland was the precursor of Fallout 1, but released way earlier. It was quite a complex game for the time it came out. I actually tried to play it recently, but gave up. It did not survive the trial of time for me personally :)

I'm a WL2 backer. :) Loved Fallout 1 and 2. Was so-so on Bethesda's Fallout 3, but loved New Vegas.

So far I haven't played much of the WL2 beta. It started out rather rough, and I don't want to ruin what is a heavy narrative game by playing through 2/3ds of it before launch.

That said, I'm looking forward to it when it comes out next month. :)

Besides, it takes place in Arizona... maybe I'll see my house. ;)

I bought this a few months back, played it a few times, liked what I saw and then shelved it until release.

I'm looking forward to playing it.

I've been watching Wasteland 2 for quite some time now. It's looking like it will be a great game much like Fallout 1 and 2.

I also peek in on the Bethesda forums now and then for Fallout 4 news. It's Been far too long since 3 & NV. Hurry up guys!!

When engaged in PvP against Feds and Imperials as an independent, I may be tempted to establish radio contact with my victims if only to transmit a little bit of this to them before they go down. Perhaps I'll name my ship 'The Congo'. :p

I was a huge fan of fallouts 1 and 2, wasteland was a bit before my time, (well, before I had a PC anyway)

I pledged on the torment kickstarter at a level the gave me wasteland 2 so I have had a play with the beta, liking it so far, but I'm giving it a rest till release. I don't really see spending too much time in early access as a good idea in RPGs where you can potentially spoil the story.

Pleased that so many people are looking forward to WL2! And from what I can see we all wait until the release :)

Eager to exchange experiences once it's fully out, discuss best party etc.

I wouldnt mind starting it now, seeing as I probably wont have got very far by the 19th, but does anyone know if there will be any save breaking upates at release?

Thanks for the info. I also backed the Kickstarter. I enjoyed trying the beta for a bit a while back. Very much looking forward to the full release.

I'm glad they've provided a way to decouple it from Steam.

Dont remember wasteland 1 but have played all fallout games to date (actually just restarted new vegas while i wait for Beta 2) including Tactics and BoS

Just watched a couple of trailers and it looks similar to tactics but a lot more involved, if it is then im in (at release)

That's cool! The game needs more portraits. :)

And this is part of the reason why I haven't played much up until this point. Not only do I not want to spoil the story, I don't want my progress lost. It's supposed to be a huge game after all. :)

If I'm not mistaken then Friday is launch day. I'm excited to finally try out the whole thing! I've avoided it for the most part because I don't want to spoil the story.

I have to say I'm really enjoying it so far. It's got a great story and loads of atmosphere. I'm still not very far into it so I cannot offer a 'review' yet, but I'd definitely recommend it if you're into the genre and/or liked the original or the Fallout series.
