QoL Suggestion: Ship Loadouts

I find I often switch a single ships parts around for the various roles I use it for (anaconda for instance). If we could save loads for each ship that would make it much quicker and more precise process (ever forget your detailed surface scanner and only realize it after jumping 30 times?). It would use the parts in storage. When attempting to use the loadout it would just skip any of the pieces assigned to it that are not available.

Yup that is standard in many other games and would make live easier for ppl in this game, especially if one wants to use 1 ship only for various tasks.
Im all in favour of the idea being implemented, got my vote.

Totally wish this were a feature. I own 3 different Pythons right now simply because it is too much hassle to completely refit it. My other ships I don't have duplicates, but do shuffle modules depending on what I'm specifically doing....I'd kill for a ship loadout save/reload feature.

I'd happy just for faster / near-instanteous ship and module changes.
Plus some good non-console UI to do it where I can easily transfer modules between my ships.

Just loadouts not sure...

Let's look at the root issue. A lot of details in the game which is easy to forget. Yeah, it is "cool" to return to equip missed module... lesson learned, next time I will never forget this module and so on. Kind of funny. But for the first time experience is always negative.

Considering latest trend to be more friendly to new players, maybe it should be some kind of "guides"?
For example, let's consider scenario:
  • I am docked at station
  • I start the guide, which asks me what I want to do
  • and gives me list of available missions and some free fly things like bounty hunting/mining
  • then it can checks if my ship is suitable for that (it can check if I have FSD interdictor, SRV, suggest some changes to ship)

Yet another option is: we already have some pre-flight check list, which is, I'm pretty sure, already disabled by all players - maybe just to add customization for it. And before any activity pilot need to plan route, ships and fill the list, which check will be started by the game before launch.

You seem to be making it more complicated than my intent. I'd just like Loadout 1, Loadout 2, Loadout 3, etc. I can have Combat, Miner, Explorer, etc. Instead of having to manually swap each part, taking care I get the right one and all of correct ones while searching through my stored parts, I could just assign them once, then push a button next time. It would get me back to playing the enjoyable parts of the game faster.

Yes please!! Even if there were a small charge (say 1000CR) to pay the “outfitter” to reconfigure your ship for you it would be well worth it.

Have a look at this thread, where I collected all similar requests and added your thread as well.

Would appreciate support over there. There are many players over the last years who would like to see this feature.
