Request: Insta-POI's during FSS gameloop

I'm not agains the FSS, I find more interesting to get all information of all planets from the entry points rather then flying to each body only to find that there's nothing to see.
What I'm really bored with is the loading time to show Geological/Biological Locations.
The FSS gameloop already requires some time when you find systems with 30 to 50 bodies (typically gas giants with a lot of moons) and waiting for many of them to show something is a big waste of time.
This information should be immediately displayed or with a lag of 2-3 seconds only. I don't even care about the quantity of POI's if this is an issue. It could be 1 or 40. If it's interesting I'm going there anyway.
Do you think the actual waiting time is intentional or really required by the game to load all the information?

You know the secret to bypassing the waiting time? Zoom out and back again. You know it has them when it starts clocking, so I just do a quick two button press tango and I'm done. In other words, it appears to be a dumb mechanic.

I think its required as it shows the amount of POI per planet. Maybe if it only showed that there were POI on a planet but not the amount it may be quicker, this is what I would also prefer. We could then leave that part for the probes, they could do with a little buff.

I'd be interested to know this too.

I don't think the loading times are directly related to the number of POI's on the planet though - I've seen the loading time take just as long for 1 POI as it does for 40.

But yea - if just telling me that there a geological or biological POI is present without telling me how many sites there are speeds up the process, do it. I don't care how many POI's are there. In fact, I would think this shouldn't be known until you do a surface scan anyway.

It doesn't make them load any quicker. All zooming out and back in again does is provide more time for the information to resolve.

Having said that, you can zoom out and scan another body while the first is still resolving surface POI's. You would still have to go back to the original again afterwards though to see what type of POI's are present, since this information is not available anywhere other than the FSS.

Weird, because I thought I did that very thing last night. You're probably right (I'm nowhere near as experienced exploring) but now I gotta go see what I did to make me think I was skipping it. Thanks for the clarification!

I think what you are seeing is the information on the right resolve, as it does if you zoom (Probably a bug) but zooming does to resolve the POI quicker. Ideally it should put Bio in the system map. If there is Geo then there will always be poi on landables

I think that during the lag it calculates where on the planet they are. I dont think anyone of us can really tell if there is a better/smoother way to do it, but I for one would definitely love if it were possible. On longer tracks it starts to add up...

Numbers are not much use, I just need to know Geo or Bio is there, well Bio & Other really as Geo is obvious from the system map. Mapping is where numbers count :)

If that's the case, skip it. We don't need to know where the POI's are on the planet, nor how many there are, prior to doing a detailed surface scan.

It should be calculated during the detailed surface scan which provides plenty of time for this information to be resolved, and wouldn't impact current gameplay.
