Re: Weinbaum city ... seriously

It's normal, probably done by some RNG. Don't think FDev hand-placed all those ten thousands of Stations.

It sometimes defies all common sense though, since unnecessarily distant Stations are entirely uneconomical.
Noone with any logic would have built them there with at least some economic feasibility in mind.

Thy do seem popular mind.
Also Hutton at least was hand placed deliberately, in place from E2 and E3 (though called Eden City or Station or something iirc).

The system is unpopulated with enemy ships so no worries about being ed out here..supercruise assist will be handy today. I fear I may fall asleep

Well those places are still at max just 1-2 hours away from jump point. Not so economically unfeasible when thinking about flightime...

Indeed. Most of them are much closer, too, within 15-30 minutes of the primary star. That's not a useful place to put them for fun gameplay [1], but in terms of realism it's a trivial distance.

[1] I suspect the positioning may have been set back when Frontier was still thinking in terms of microjumps for in-system travel, and it wouldn't have been the same sort of issue.

Now if rares were offered at Weinbaum, a rares trade run between Hutton and Weinbaum would make compelling game play :giggle:

We have Hutton Truckers, and we could have Weinbaum .... errr ... baummers :D
