Horrible Ship Names

Ever Just see a cmdr , with such a bad, unimaginative/unoriginal ship name, and wonder why? why even bother naming your ship something stolen from Scifi like "Nostromo" "millennium falcon" "enterprise" "firefly" or the "Ishimura" when you KNOW that every chump in a sidewinder is going to name his the exact same way, M

is it weird/wrong i enjoy merking people(in game) with unimaginative/unoriginal ship names?

Isn't imitation a form of flattery? I think all those names are from great movies/games. Except for Firefly, never watched that one. Now you got me trying to remember the name of the ship from "Event Horizon"! That's one of the names I was going to pick for my Annie but ended up with "Porkchop" 'cos Annies have have such fat bellies!

Enterprise was used to name ships long before Star Trek.

I play this game to live out a sci fi fantasy l will never experience IRL of traveling across the Galaxy FTL. As such, some my ship names are inspired by the science fiction I have enjoyed. I named my AspX Discovery after the ship in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

You should correct this mistake at your earliest convenience. Firefly is an excellent series. Serenity is the movie that was made from that series, also very worth the view.

I also own a Black Adder called Baldrick.

There are no bad names, some are just more popular than others.

In my lore there is an dodgy latch on the overhead machete storage locker on the left side of the sidewinder. Faulcon Delacy were going to do a recall, but the Sirius Bionic Eye corporation is a major stakeholder, and the recall never happened. So that’s why you see all these freshly minted trade elite CMDRs with sod all combat rank and a “cool scar” with a bionic eye.
