Silly Broken Conflict Zones!

Fighting a nice war, as per usual.

I drop in to a medium CZ, and there's nothing there. I can select a side, but no ships.
Then, a not-so-friendly enemy CMDR drops in, in a Corvette.
I'm just in my Krait, but whatever.
That's fine, 1v1!

"Warning, enemy spec ops inbound!"

So now it's 5v1, plus the Corvettes SLF, so 6v1. Lol

So I make a tactical decision to run like a little girl.

A few moments later, I drop in to the medium CZ again, this time the Corvette is already in a battle, so I dive in.
Before I even get in to firing range (which isn't much, because frags), all 4 spec ops just turn and go for me.
Once again, 6v1!

So I run away, again.

Some shenanigans later, I managed to get myself wanted for attacking the Corvette (which interdicted me), and had to find an interstellar factors, which I cleverly decided to try and do, while being shot at.

Of course, the map doesn't like being shot at, and refuses to stay open. Lol

All in all, a fun, and totally unproductive morning.

Kudos to the Corvette, they fly that thing well. Much better than I fly my Krait. Or anything really. Lol

Sometimes it can work for you - I've been doing lots of Pirate Lord assassinations and a surprising number of times a second Pirate Lord jumps in and helps me finish off the first :)

Try VR. It's swinishly difficult to get to see the window where you are supposed to pick sides, and lately, I haven't been able to PICK a side--nothing worked. IF and WHEN I got to see that window, mind.

Just shooting one of the parties didn't really help, either, as I would not get any combat bonds...

Are you on WMR? It is bugged on mine, and everyone else's WMR headset I know. Not just CZs, it is bugged with all scenarios. Of course, it was reported in beta within minutes of scenarios going live but hey.

What's the bug with WMR in CZ's?

I was unlocking Juri Ishmaak for my alt account in two nearby medium and high intensity CZs earlier this morning in VR (Samsung Odyssey) and had no problem choosing a side from the chat menu. I think I prefer it to the old right hand panel way ..... (right hand panel? It's been a long time since I was in a CZ!)

It took ages for my combat bonds to come through, registering only five after nearly thirty kills before they all came through at once, but that was the nearest thing to a 'bug' I found. Am I missing something or just lucky?

That is interesting! For many of us the 'chose side' screen simply doesn't appear, or only in the corner of your eyes de-selected for very brief flashes. I need to enter options, go pancake, leave the menu, select side, go back to the menu, re-enable the HDM, leave the menu again and then I can fight. :p

Oh wow. So I've been very lucky then.

I found that when I dropped into a CZ I'd be anywhere from around 15-10km away from the targeted CZ and I'd get the 'choose a side' panel pop up in the chat window. I don't think it gave an obvious and easy way to choose before it disappeared again but it looked to be where it should be in terms of placement within the UI. At this point I had no contacts on my scanner so I'd move to within 7.5kms at which point I see contacts on my radar and open the Comms panel, flick back on the UI (I think it was back and not forward) and the choose a side panel was there. Select it and then select my preferred side.

I've got various HOTAS buttons mapped for navigating my UI, not that I suspect that makes the slightest difference.

Worth noting that I have only been playing in combat zones this morning so may find I suffer the same issues with prolonged use.

Hope they get it sorted.
