Open Play Problems

Has anyone experienced selecting open play in the options screen only to be redirected to the Play Station plus screen page, directing you to purchase an account?
I have an account that expires in 2020 and I cannot get past this, Help!

It takes about five seconds in the main menu to be logged into the server. I think you just started the game before it could happen.

Also, accounts don't expire. If you have the game, you have it forever.
..unless it is one of those "pay to play online" console things.

Yep, Consoles need an online subscription to play multiplayer games - that is Open and PG for Elite.
Xbox has Live Gold subscription, PlayStation has something similar
