Well, this could've gone better

In quest of the Guardian FSD Booster blueprints I decided to give it a try. Got to the Guardian site without too much problem although parking was a , literally rough ground everywhere in close proximity. After searching for a while I finally found a spot, deployed my SRV and that's where things started to go wrong.
Having driven away from my ship, the turret of my SRV simply would not deploy, nor weapons fire. Take a look at the vid;

Somehow I triggered a Sentinel who began to hammer me, thnaksfully the point defense mounted on my ASP X worked. I decided it might be workable to kill the Sentinel shooting me from the ship, which I finally did with the ship pulse lasers though even that took longer than I'd expected;

Having now relaucnhed my ship I'll need to find a spot to re-land, launch my SRV and try and figure out what I'm doing wrong that won't allow the SRV to either fire or deploy the turret.

Any insights are very much welcome, so far the Guardian site isn't going that well.

Move srv further away from ship.

I guess that must be it.

You can use your ship as a cover when dealing with the Guardian Drones. Their weps usually wont do much damage to a parked ship (monitor how much damage their missiles do to your ship, i dont know what your shields are running at) If your ships soaks it up, then use it for cover. Line of sight cover or duck in and duck out.

1. Take a Dolphin. They can land in places other ships can only dream.

2. Check your SRV’s power management and make sure your turrets aren’t turned off.

3. Check your SRV ammo and make sure you’re not dry firing.

Or move ship away from SRV. :p
That reminds me:

Last time I was at a Guardian site, to get myself another weapons blueprint, a mere couple of weeks ago, I pressed 'D' by mistake. I didn't realize, in all the years of playing, that this key is bound to DISMISS SHIP 😭

It was a lot lot harder having to dodge the missiles in the SRV !

Follow that guide, farm all needed blueprints in a couple hours

1) I did all my guardian shopping with an anaconda and always found a way to park it in a useful spot. So idk
2) you are too close to your ship, need to be further for turret to activate
3) for guardian sites, I found it easier to stay in turret mode as much as possible, especially when fighting. Makes it more like an FPS. Also you can see the terrain better.
4) they have very predictable attack patterns, so use cover until they reload and engage at range to take advantage of their slow reloading
5) collect ALL them mats

I'm not sure what you're saying there. The point defense is very useful in this situation - it shoots down the missiles from the sentinels, preventing them from hitting you and occasionally turning you over.
Never said they were useless, just unnecessary.
Missiles can be avoided easily with a little cover, don't do a lot of damage, rarely knock you about if you use the handbrake and really are not the big issue people make them out to be. Then they complicate situations as described by the op.

If you think I am promelgating ’git gud’, nope. I am really rubbish at combat, specially srv Combat, hell, I don't even use a turret most of the time. Never had any problems from sentinels.
