What´s your perfect Zoo?

Hello everybody. I am surprised how much I enjoyed the planet zoo trailer. It made me want to play good old Zoo Tycoon again. I started my biggest ZT-project now. At this time it´s just a first raw Plan and as you can see I made alot of comments for myself. I will update the map and upload and show ingame Screenshots as soon as I am finishing a certain area. Nevertheless I want to share my passion for Tycoon games and my first Ideas on that Project with all of you. What´s your perfect zoo you lovely people had build / or are building? Do you have got Screenshots and Maps you would like to share ? I am very interessted in all of your creativity. Dear greetings to the community! :)

I'm excited to see the zoos people create in Planet zoo and the stories behind them. I don't know if you're over at the zoo tycoon forum ZT2 Round table, but it's amazing seeing everyone's creations, walking through their zoos bit by bit, talking about the history, the exhibts and the animals in general, giving life to their zoos and seeing how differently people create exhibits. I do believe I have some old photos from a zoo I created a little while ago, I'll go take a look. I hope we get a show-case forum, where people just show off their zoos!

I am really looking forward to trying to raise some Free range Cheetahs running amok in the Gazelle and Antelope enclosures. If I can actually setup a functioning food chains, and semi self-sufficient ecosystems (even if it is not strictly encouraged), i will be in heaven :). I just really on want to push the limits of Animal behaviour and see how far we can take it. Also really natural enclosures and exhibits using as much natural terrain and boundaries( Water, Ditches, climate controls and possibly even the animal species themselves. One Species can cross a boundary but if they do they get frightened and eaten The Other Species cant cross into the former enclosure due to environmental boundaries.) as possible.

I prefer Singapore Zoo - World's Best Rainforest Zoo

There are so many amazing zoos around the world! I'd love to visit them all! Thanks for sharing them here. 😄

My favourite zoo is Burgers’ Zoo in Arnhem, The Netherlands. A zoo specialised in eco-displays, such as
  • Bush (a huge rainforest conservatory with lots of bird species, reptiles, otters, aardvarks and more)
  • Mangrove (a large conservatory dome with mangrove trees, birds, a tide pool with crabs, and lots of butterflies)
  • Ocean (several large aquariums with tropical fish, designed so that you start at a beach, go via lagunas to the deep ocean and then back ashore. Featuring one of the largest living coral aquariums in the world)
  • Desert (a large indoor habitat simulating the North-American desert where it's cold during winters)

As a matter of fact I'm going to join one of the first Planet Zoo community meetings in Burgers’ Zoo later this week. 😄

That sounds so cool! I love Zoo's and Aquariums soo much and really hope PZ takes the opportunity to give us the ability to have a Marine Park.. I love big aquariums with sharks, turtles, orcas, and the like! I've been to a place called "Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park" and it is just beautiful out there, they are a part of Conservation too. The Dolphin Show (which i only saw a portion of) was to die for and the Dolphins even took a liking to me, coming over to me, whilst standing by their pool, when they had a chance (even if they probably weren't suppose to) XD I even acted like a dork and made Dolphin noises by the underwater glass while watching them have a good ole time before the show started because I am in love with Dolphins'.. I didn't try to get them to come to me at all though because it's against rules and I respect Zoo's and Aquariums.

They also had Reptile exhibits which was great feauturing Caiman and Alligators. Also, the Sea Lions were dolls! The sharks were pretty great too.

I am very glad we are getting Terrariums too, when I was little, I would always make myself a lizard or spider Terrarium!

Planet Zoo community meeting?
YES!

I had already planned this visit for a few months, since I'll be attending an evening tour at the park, but thanks to the announcement of Planet Zoo some members of the Planet Coaster community are going to join me. :)

We're going to Burgers' Zoo, Arnhem, The Netherlands. Some of my friends in the community, such as DeLadysigner and even Rudi Rennkamel, will be joining me.
One of the coolest parts: Burger's Zoo's marketing department is aware of, and is following Planet Zoo, and they already know about the popularity of Planet Coaster, since some of their staff plays that game. They have noticed that we are going to have a community meeting at their zoo, so they have arranged a surprise tour behind the scenes for us. 🥳

That sounds super awesome! Is it possible for me to join that special opportunity ? I live close by Arnhem and it would be super awesome to experience something like that! It's ok if it is only exclusive to the members you are currently with , I am just wondering. I have went to Burgers zoo couple of times. It's awesome!

I love the zoo in Zurich, there are definitely some of the most innovative and modern exhibits in the zoo world, although there is a relative small amount of species in comparison with other zoos of a small size and a big lack of smaller species, it deserves to be mentioned and honored as one of the best zoos in Europe.

OMG that sounds so delightful. I hope to go there some day! I can't believe you guys get to go on a special tour too! :)

lets also step into this arena here :) hi its me again from planco. and i definitly will get into this game so bad! woop woop.

My top zoos right now are:

  • Zoo Zurich (Switzerland) (( My hometown zoo)
  • Zoo Berlin (but the one in the East! Not the normal zoo)
  • Zoo Vienna (old but really awesome)

i also like wildlife Parks, so i will see what kind of animals we will get and maybe i will plan some mixtures. :)

I want to go with realism. But with that in mind I don't want metal or chain fences. I want my enclosures to feel and look as close to a natural environment as possible. I don't mind the look of walls and glass. But metal fences to me personally make an enclosure seem more like a cage.
