Re: Hot under the collar!!

"Please help us! Rescue us! But be quick about it or we'll fine you!"
"Get lost then."

you tell me. they wouldn't go into a filthy cargo bay either. they wanted ... tourist cabins?!!

just wished them well ("have fun dying, folks!"), plugged some blues into my ears and dusted off. it's so easy to make people happy!

Whenever I read one of these threads I want to rescue these poor souls from burning stations. The problem for me is there's no way in-game to find a burning station in need of rescuing, AFAIK. Now that i'm recording my sessions... hmmm something besides combat vids.

You mean other than the icons in the galmap? The ones showing attacked stations? or the galnet article (right below powerplay), saying where the attacked stations are?

I suppose other than those two ways it is impossible 🤔

The Galaxy map shows them, every single one.

It would take a visit to a "damaged" station to make the connection this is what everyone's talking about with these descriptions of flames, explosions, fleeing residents. And then take note this corresponds to the icon in the galmap. Not everyone does this. Are the "repairing" stations no longer in flames?

No, the repairing stations are those needing loads of cargo drops of whetever they require to fix. @Riverside has been doing repair missions for a while I believe.

Don't take the comments about burning stations to heavily, I wouldn't have noticed either if I hadn't neded to plot a mission course to an adjoining system :)

I do these in an Orca, and heat is nearly never an issue. Sure, it gets a little warm, but worst thing that’s happened has been a cargo scoop malfunction, and with no cargo it’s been no problem.

My statement was phrased poorly. I should have said "I don't know how to find these stations in game". I must've gave up using the galmap for more than plotting courses sometime around my 2nd week of playing.

As someone who has bumped into a fair number of stars in game, I wouldn't be too fussed at hitting 125% heat as long as you don't hang around too long, There is a definite advantage in learning how to dock manually . With a bit of practice and maybe a some luck you can get in fast enough not to take any heat damage. It's probably better to practice fast landings at an ordinary station that isn't on fire before rushing into a burning station.

I just did the same missions a couple of days ago in an Anaconda that runs quite hot. (7a shields, fully armed with a bunch of lasers and overcharged mc's, and loads of shield boosters) I installed two heatsink launchers, and never took damage. I could even take the time to let my collector limpets pick up the escape pods floating inside the station.
Fired off about 4 heat sinks per visit. But if you aren't going to be collecting escape pods, one or two heatsinks are more than enough.

I read somewhere that if you turn off all unnecessary modules that lowers the heat.
