My Facility Ideas

Hello,

I am TheDinoGuy who has recently joined and has a few ideas for Jurassic World Evolution involving buildings, new capabilities for established content, etc. Let’s get started.

1. Let’s say we have an aviary for the pterosaurs but it’s not enough since we want to see them in action. What if you had the ability to go inside the building and it’ll be like another park since you would have to add trees, rocks and water for them. Just have your clicker over the building and you have the option to work on it or not and you also have a creation lab specifically for the pterosaurs as well.

The same ability can go to a building to feature smaller dinosaurs like Compsagnathus just like in one of the scrapped ideas for Jurassic World.

2. What if we had the option of changing a dinosaur’s size before incubating. Like a gene trait and then certain dinosaurs like Velociraptor, Dilophosaurus or Pachycephalosaurus would be in the size they are in reality.

Of course I’d like to see baby dinosaurs and I’d be curious to see the Cretaceous Cruise and petting zoo if they do that. So that’s what I have. What do you think?

While #1 is doable/possible, like the same way how the game plays in Surviving Mars, ie: Build a dome, then build/add structures within the dome.

#2 on the other hand, is an entirely different story. Dino model size is fixed. Additionally, film lore trumps over reality when featuring things in this game.

#3, baby dinos are just out of the question. It's already been discussed before. Following JW-Trilogy lore, All dinos in the park are females, with the exemption of the I-Raptor. So no babies, no breeding. Besides, Dr. Wu would have already known by then his mistake during the JP-Trilogy in being careful of using only Frog DNA to complete a dino DNA strand.

Fair enough on the baby part. But they had the Pachy in possibly its normal, bigger size in Jurassic World. I used to be confused on all the different looks for the dinosaurs in each movie but now I get it.

But we could potentially make dedicated "baby" dinosaurs at one point, pedomorphy is supposedly an easy way to evolve dwarfism.

The size of the Pachy in JW was Universal's choice on how it is to be portrayed in the film. Same goes on how they looked.

Making dedicated "baby" dinos make no sense.

My suggesting is to make dwarf dinosaur by locking them in a juvenile state, so while the petting apatosaurus might look like a baby, it could be much older.

Edit: I would think that keeping a trained riding-sized triceratops, who has been familiarised with human interaction, riding-sized makes sense.

And how would you suggest these so called "pocket dinos" be implemented game-wise???? Aside from the Petting Zoo featured in JW.

I don't know, but we do already have dwarf dilophosaurs.
Uh what?? Dwarf Dilos?? Been with the game since launch, & there isn't a thing as a dwarf dilophosaur...
If you're referring to the Proceratosaurus, its an entirely different dino from the Dilophosaur.

I just feed a couple of guests to a dilo, and assuming a guest height of 1.6-1.8 m, I would estimate the dilo to be around 3-3.5 m long.
Now assuming the dilo to adult it would be significantly shorter than the holotype of 6 m.

Personally I have no problem with dwarf species, since island dwarfism appears to be a well documented phenomena :)

EDIT: Forgot the stats, which states the length as 3.0 m.

And you forgot that Franchise Lore, IE: JP/JW lore trumps real-life lore.
But then we definitely have baby dinos.
I'm not that familiar with JP/JW lore outside the movies, could you elaborate on the dilos? :)

Edit: Apparently it says on one of the monitors in the autocamper in JP2 that the dilo is 20 ft long.
