The technology is developed and ready to be employed for our journey into local space. Can it be that within a few decades, we could have off world colonies. Taking advantage of the very life giving properties found in the void. Very exciting.

We do, which makes them kinda pointless really.

But the concept is interesting simply because it could, potentially, make space travel in the solar system a rather more viable option than what it is right now.

The limiting factors have always been, technology, fuel and supplies, a reason.

The technology will be under control now that the Indians and possibly the Chinese have taken over from the Laurel and Hardy efforts of the US/Europe.

This potentially could assist with the problem of fuel and some supplies.

Next, what is needed is a reason to actually go there.
