  • Bright light when entering and exiting hyperspace.

Who agree ?

And change time spent in hyperspace relative to jump distance..
Problem is it's a loading screen, not a travel screen. Doesn't matter how distant two systems are, it takes the same time to load.

Currently, that's at 14 seconds, so that'd be your baseline for, lets say, a 0.1 LY jump. I'm pretty sure you're not proposing a 5,600 sec wait time (1.5 hours) for a 40LY jump though... so unless you've got any ideas for making the load time for a system near-instantaneous, it's almost certainly not going to happen.

This impressive and aggressive exit sound.

I actually find that a fairly unpleasant noise... kinda like auditory whiplash. A bit more of that would be fine for things like Thargoid Hyperdictions, but if it's a noise I'm going to have to hear thousands of times during my game experience, I'd rather it not be a noise like that.

See above comments...

If jumping were only something needed once or twice per play session, yeah ok, make it a bit more dramatic. But I've probably made 1000 jumps in the last week across five play sessions. I'm just going to mute the whole game if sounded like that for each of those 1000 jumps.

I had a similar reaction. Remixes are cool in part because they're new. But after a while they're not new any more, and their foibles become apparent.

If I'm being honest I've found some of the graphical changes to the game, especially around hyperspace, to be a bit of a retrograde step. In general the trend is towards better, but there are things from alpha and beta that I realise how much I miss when I catch them in old videos. The sound, on the other hand, I think is damned near perfect (until they make a tweak, then I realise it wasn't quite as perfect as I thought it was and that now it's perfect :)).

What FD have managed to achieve is a soundscape that's impressive as all hell when you first hear it, or when you choose to concentrate on it, but which sinks unobtrusively into the background when you're performing repetitive tasks or concentrating on something else. It is very impressive.

It already is, (relative to something anyways) time spent in hyperspace is relative to the number of assets to be loaded in and your current internet speed...
I think it was Dav, who explained it in a live stream. The actual loading of assets is very short and not a big factor, setting up the instance is, especially if it contains lots of other players.

Linking the time spent in hyper space to the actual distance travelled is on of the worst ideas I have ever read on this forum. It does neither make sense within the established rules of the game world nor does it in any way enhance the player experience.

I guess the best thing one could do to that loading Screen is :

  • give it more variation based on position in the Galaxy
  • make it more than just a loading Screen, allow "stuff" to happen

2nd thing we once had with the Hyperdictions, but those were exceedingly rare and most Players only know them from Youtube.
The idea was great though, IMHO should be part of the Game (cue misjump or anything else you could come up with , nothing to regularly waste time, more like a rare surprise).
