Any Advice on a guy who's Insane...

Circumnavigating the galaxy is a "common" goal; many have done it.

One tip, if I may: don't aim to circumnavigate all the way out at the galactic edge. That's where everybody else goes. And because stars are very, very sparse way out there, all the stars on the fringe are already visited. Allitinil, especially, seems to have visited and Tagged most of the fringe systems out on the galactic circumference (hence the comment about him earlier).

If you want to do "true exploring", visiting never-before-seen-by-anyone systems, then stay away from the fringe. Follow the densest regions of the spiral arms; you're much less likely to encounter other Tags.

Also, I'd suggest going around clockwise, rather than anticlockwise; you're less likely to simply drift down to the end of an arm and be forced to backtrack.

Prediction: OP returns to the Bubble in 2 years as a psycho ganker who can only communicate in grunts and shrieks

Major recommendation: go download PotPlayer, it's a great media player with transparency options, I watch stuff on all my long hauls. :)

My long distance trips were in a 62LY range Anaconda. The extra range helped me get out of some tight spots. That setup with a Guardian booster would have been even safer.

Try not to set any goals other than going from one point to the other and put out any desire with "civilized" contact. Too long a stretch of jumps became almost painful to do after a week or so.

If you reach the real edge of the universe, let us know if "there be dragons".

I did this a couple of years ago in a 19ly fully equipped Corvette, I was out for 18 months, although I docked at Colonia after 15 months.

My one piece of advice: Always have a next target. I spent 7 months travelling anti-clockwise up the Carina arm to Beagle point & when I got there realised I had no plan for what to do next ;)

So I set a few touristy waypoints & wandered around the far side of the galaxy ticking them off one by one. I still have dozens of target systems bookmarked, every so often I go out (usually in a higher jump range ship now) & tick off a few more, and add a few more for next time :)

Unless you literally have all the time in the world, make sure your ship is as engineered up as you can make it. Me, I'd make sure to get that Anaconda's 44 LY jumprange up to at least 70+ which isn't too hard if you have access to lightweight modifications, FSD modifications and have D-rated modules in most slots (except powerplant and FSD, of course).

Take heatsinks and enough mats to make some extra, as once in a while you will find your self dropping out at a star either cause you werent paying attention/got carried away scooping etc. or because you jump into the middle of a binary. Saves alot of module damage due to heat.

If you scan something in all, or most, systems I'll be curious to see how many credits you get - if nothing else it should be an astonishing money spinner!

I'm going clockwise and am trying to stay outside but still in dense parts
