Up the armor rating and it might get flown more.
Nailed it.That's... charitable.
Considering it's size and price, it needs to be a helluva lot more than an overweight, overpriced alternative to the Viper 4.
First, I'd suggest they chop off those absurd wing-things and, if necessary, re-work the model to make it a bit smaller.
Second, I'd take a look at the AspX and give it a similar range of optional internals - not "the same" but similar. Maybe a C5 and a C4 then a C3, a couple of C2s and a couple of C1s.
Third, I'd tweak the stat's to make it especially good at something. Maybe make it a bit faster than a Cobra 3, increase the jump-range so it's comparable with a DBX or, perhaps, dial-up the armor.
In a nutshell, the AspS is one of those ships where there's always another ship which can do the same thing better, for less credits.
Given it's price, it really needs to be a step up - in some way - from all the other ships in the Cr1m - Cr2m price range.
As it is, it seems like it's sole purpose is to be a "booby trap" - it's the ship you buy as soon as you can afford it and then you realise that you should have waited a bit longer and bought an AspX.
Alternatively - and more simply - maybe they could turn it into the ship that's the unrestricted alternative to the Cobra 4?
Whatever they do with it, the stupid wing-things need to go.
Well, I did. But that's because I made it.
I love the series. I remember seeing isinona dog fighting something close to a planets surface in their usual faoff way.

I wonder if we have to wait until 2020 to see the long promised buff for the ASP Scout.
Price tag discussions seem a tad obsolete IMHO - in days where a single Mining run or a low amount of Missions can easily pay for any of these Ships. Or a single minor Exploration run.
'Fundamentally redundant'.Price is only "obsolete" insofar as anybody can afford anything.
It still serves as a perfectly valid form of comparison between ships.
When one thing is more expensive than another thing, there needs to be a reason for it.
The AspS is, IIRC, comparable with both the Cobra 3 and the Viper 4.
It's the lightest of the 3 and yet it's the slowest.
It's the biggest of the 3 and yet it's got the least internal slots.
It's supposed to be a "scout" ship and yet it's jump-range is only slightly better than the other two.
The Cobra costs Cr205k, the Viper costs Cr310k and the AspS costs Cr3.8m - more than TEN TIMES as much.
Course, the AspS does have a C5 slot in it's favour.
Try sticking a C5 shield in the AspS, stick a C4 shield in the Viper and see what happens.
The AspS isn't just a bit out of whack. It's fundamentally redundant.
What's more, it was made even more useless by the recent update since, being a medium ship rather than small, it only got one extra slot rather than the two that the Cobra and Viper got.
