We're basically a year maybe bit more away from 2020 release

I can't wait for them to push that release date back further due to their lack of being able to do anything and "promise" to give everyone something good, but I'm sure the whole year+ from now of them doing that they'll keep churning out microtransaction skins. Frontier needs to be, and I am loathe to say this, absorbed by another company or publisher to force them to actually make content and deliver on promises, as it stands right now they just have piles of money and no drive to actually accelerate anything to completion as no one is putting pressure on them.

The only thing we could ever do is completely quit all their games, get everyone else to quit all their games, and even stop posting here, leaving them dead in the water wondering what happened. But let's be real, none of us are going to go to that extent and some of that isn't possible... so they'll just chug along until eventually they make something small at their rate, hype it as a big thing, and then make more money from all of us grasping at straws.

It was originally meant for Beyond. I don't remember if by Lavecon time they'd already postponed it. Either way, it was shown, and then never again talked about for a year.
Yes I remember of these beautiful pictures.

It will be like the Guardians or Thargoids.

Exciting during the release and for a while after, but then business as usual.

Nah, the truth probably lies somewhere between your take and the OP's giddy one.

The dev run is comparable to the launch run. The mechanics & content will be more than Guardian puzzle tier, no doubt. And will most likely attempt to add new 'business as usual' norms for many players, being an all-in-one (doubtless premium-priced) expac.

Guess we'll see how close they get to that mark ;)

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Elite gas been out for a long time now and us old timers have done pretty much everything we want to in it. I still long for the stuff Frontier promised at the start, which I hope the 2020 update brings. Until the game gets that adrenaline shot in the Asp it needs I'll keep doing what I normally do - occasionally log on and faf about for an hour and then close it down again for a couple days. I still have fun no doubt, but Elite isn't an obsession these days like it once was.
