Selene Jean, totally worth the minimal effort. I had long mined 500+ tons long before I had the invite to see her. Spend an afternoon mining for profit and you’ll be set.
For pity's sake, all the OP said was that they don't like mining - an opinion shared by a lot of players I would add - but wanted to unlock Selene. They were finding out what precisely was involved. They weren't complaining. Its like people just wanted to have the goodies but put no effort into it, as already posited...
It's a preference. So, likewise."Cant really be bothered to mine" smells, looks and reads like a complaint.

I think the trick is to do it as-and-when, rather than as a single task. Do it as a single task and yes, it won’t be a great experience. The trip to see Petra Olmanova in the Asura system in the colonia bubble is a lot more pleasant imo than mining 500 tons of anything and she does armor and hull reinforcements.
I did experiment with mining, i think i got a couple of tons of water and some mineral or metal that escapes me atm and called it a job well done. Havent felt the need to repeat it.I think the trick is to do it as-and-when, rather than as a single task. Do it as a single task and yes, it won’t be a great experience.
Have you tried the new Explodey Core thing? It’s sort of fun.I did experiment with mining, i think i got a couple of tons of water and some mineral or metal that escapes me atm and called it a job well done. Havent felt the need to repeat it.

They're probably millenials! Its not, got in the last 24 hours, adding about 2-3 hours gameplay, mined selectively 150-200 low temp diamonds and VO, in 2 short runs.

I used to find it very therapeutic - there's something very relaxing about the thrumm of the mining laser, the wibbling of the limpets, the explosions as that pirate Eagle succumbs to my turrets...While core mining is great fun, the old fasioned mining can be pretty good to, if only for the mats
It always sounds, to me, as if the limpets are chatting with eachother, but maybe anthropomorphism is strong in this oneI used to find it very therapeutic - there's something very relaxing about the thrumm of the mining laser, the wibbling of the limpets, the explosions as that pirate Eagle succumbs to my turrets...
Heh - yeah, I know what you mean. I also engage in a bit of tragi-drama whenever one of them expires on a rock. "Kevin! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!"It always sounds, to me, as if the limpets are chatting with eachother, but maybe anthropomorphism is strong in this one![]()
Yes it counts, and it's fine if you're just going to dump the stuff, or concentrate on high value stuff like Void Opals, but seeing you'll need 10 units of Painite to complete the unlock you will have to spend some time mining in a metallic ring anyway.Does it literally have to be ONLY ore? Does stuff from ice fields count like water and the like?
