Longitude and Latitude

Firstly, reading longitude and latitude is really difficulty due to the color, screen contrast, etc.. on Anaconda and SRV (not sure other ships).

Suggestion to enable bookmarking (and entering it manually) longitude and latitude so it can be easily located.

I was doing some mining on SRV and found some canisters, but I forgot to install a cargo on my ship. So I wrote down the longitude and latitude, fly away to fit a cargo bay and return to salvage the canisters... it's so difficult to locate it. I never did.

Probably because those are non-persistent spawns, and vanished as you left....

(and Lat / Lon are easy enough with a little practice, think of it as a mini game. (Well, unless you list them in the wrong order, like you did ....))

Thanks for all the info and correction :)

Well it wasn't really a correction because as I am sure someone will point out it isn't really (well I assume it doesn't meet a definition of ...) Northings and Eastings as it uses degrees rather than a distance base, however it is easier to interpret the figures if you consider them as Northings and Eastings. Well, it suits me better anyway. ;)

I would still like to see an easier to read coordinates - as currently, I need to tilt up my ship or drive the SRV up a small rock/crater so the dark sky background act as better contrast against the numbers (I've been adjusting the graphic setting, but not getting good result).

Adding a compass would definitely be a nice touch too.

I wouldn't hold your breath OP. There was a thread requesting this before. The thread had many hundreds of pilots agreeing including some who had programmed third party apps to do such a thing.

Sadly FD never once commented on it.

The changes to the way the surface scanner now mitigate much of this but if you do want to find a specific point on a planet you are still pretty much back to 19th century methods.

HUD is pretty unreadable sometimes - that's true. I really hate that. You would think going from monitor displays to holograhic ones would be to make things better, not worse.
Some time ago I've made a suggestion to add non transparency option. Black, non transparent outline (switchable option) would help a lot to make information presented to pilot more readable.

As for the main topic, there are 3rd party programs that help in navigating SRV a lot.
I'm using this one, as it has other cool options also:
But there's more to choose from.
